That's my question too. I've heard of people using a 15 watt panel to maintain a single deep cycle. That is what I was thinking of doing. Those can be had with a controller for about $150.

What about something like this? I know it's not metal and as pretty but I really think it has more advantages. It is also a lot less expensive. Of course we would put a different logo on it.

As far as I know it is breathable. It is what our Coleman popup used. In the 7 years we had the camper the tent material never leaked once and never had any condensation. I also holds up very well to the sun.

You may want to strengthen everything inside as well, cabinets, wall panels ect. We had a coleman popup and I had the axle flipped to give it a 4" lift. It was able to go more places without scraping but things started to come apart inside as the whole body shifted around.
