Progress has slowed...
Last week was a hot one! Temps here saw 100's and high 90's making work on the truck in that oven of a shop unbearable. I did manage to start taking apart the NP205 to get it machined for the larger bearing and new input shaft. Unfortunately I quickly ran into a lack of...

My 87 Chevy 'Burb with 4" lift, 37" tires, with a RTT and no sway bar does just fine. Leaf springs... so not a direct comparison but..
If you're set on putting one in, Currie Enterprises makes "universal" kits. I had considered it when I did my Dana 60 swap and lost the stock sway bar... but...
We were unable to connect to the node as well tonight. Not sure why. It is a valid node, and we've used it before: http://status.irlp.net/index.php?PSTART=11&nodeid=9350
Could be something with the heat is causing issues, could be something else. Sorry we missed you. :(
Darlington!! ****** is up man! :D Say hi to your brother for me and Post! Looks like you've been having a helluva good time with that Dodge of yours. When I make it out to CO for some wheeling I'll have to hit you up for the inside info! PM me your info man! If you ever come west wheeling lemme know!
Oh man, I have seriously considered the Westy top route. We've gotten our packing to the point where we definitely can leave the middle row up, and thus easy to use as a pathway to the sleeping area. And I like the easy of setup and take down. I'm not, ultimately, a fan of the looks. The top...
Wow! Been a while since I updated. LOTS happening. New wheels and tires, frame painted, underbody coated, all back together again!
Started with getting the Toyo Open Country RT's mounted up on those Pro Comp's. OH. MY. GOD. I will never ever ever go back to those military surplus tires. I will...
Yeah, that's definitely turned into the approach. The body is actually going to remained untouched for now other than the underbody treatment. Once the frame and drivetrain are bullet proof then I can try and deal with anything else. Gotta have the foundation right!
Hey Art,
Sadly, no. :( I think the owner is struggling a bit with some final config, so I'm trying my best to help him through that... but I don't think it'll be up for this week...
Sadly the DuraTracs don't come in 37's. :-/ They do look pretty sweet.
The nice thing with the steelies is they're easy enough to strip and paint or powdercoat in whatever color ya want. :D White might be interesting...
I dropped into 4Wheel Parts today and ended up going with the Toyo Open...
Big progress day!
First off, wanna thank zoomad75 for the hook up on the gauges! These are gonna be great! And thanks so much for packing them so well and including an extra lens! With the wiring diagram I have it should be easy to label each lead from the plugs you included. Super excited...
These are Pro Comp Series 98's. They were $98 a pop, so not bad at all. Pro Comp does a lot of wheels, and a lot of steel wheels for crawlers, so I wasn't surprised they were the only ones I could find with a 3.5 offset standard on 17's.
Though I did get in touch with Method Wheels, and they...
Yes in deed! Thanks again for that!
Okay, I'll very seriously consider those then. They do look at sound good. Really hard to tell from online sound samples, so testimonials are appreciated. I'll definitely be including some kind of H or X pipe as well.
Thanks!
You want 'em, they're yours for hella cheap. Have 6 matching wheels (not H1 beadlocks, alloy 16.5's) and 5 military surplus Goodyear Wrangler M/T tires.
1 tire presently has a SUPER slow leak, but will die over the course of a weak.
1 tire had a super slow leak but I fixed it with that slime...
