You'll be fine. I have an LR3 that was used by a fly-fishing expedition outfit in Colorado. They had yakima bars that clamped on the OEM roof rack and a roof top tent mounted.
Seemed to work well.
The other option: Remove the upper part of the oem rack leaving only the flat part. (you simply...

Hey, Buzzer142: No "pro" here. Enthusiast yes, ... pro ... questionable! :)
My first advise would be wheels and tires. 18" tires and BFG ALL Terrains would be my first step. Sliders or some sort of side protection next. Front bumper/winch next. Snorkel if you want but not 100 necessary around...
I actually started this thread and originally the Evoque left a really bad taste in my mouth. So bad, in fact that I went AEV Jeep for an entire year.
But when my love of the Green Oval lured me back, my wife started looking again as well. Boy, did I get schooled! My wife LOVED the Evoque. So...

Awesome trips. Loved where you were camping right on the beach! Great.
Love your rig as well. Guessing your Discovery 4 (LR4) is a Diesel!?! (we don't have those here).
I'll for sure be following you. I am also a member of this forum on your turf...
Wade- Land Rover Nashville- Guy named Master P. Can cure ANY interior ill.
Once made a cigerette hole in a DII headliner disappear for $35 and I swear I couldn't find it (and you know what the headliner material looks like).
I've had him renew RRC seats to as new, door cards. Even saw him...
The african version is the Conqueror Commander. I own one in the US.
They now also offer the same trailer through Conqueror Australia. It is basically a scaled back UEV490.
