I like it! Need to find a nice log like that and need to know the diameter of the drill. Recommendations welcome!

Wow - Looks like you got lots of good use out of the riser. I sold out of my last production run. With no new single BBQ Boxes demand will be low. I did let the Portland SP team borrow one for display so that one might still be out there.

Great to hear from another SP legend! I really think SP needs to up their game to the expedition market. I get the clothes but don’t lose focus from your roots. I had great talks with the SP team at the two SP Ways I attended.

Definitely sad. The only way to keep up with SP is to buy as soon as it is available. Been building my collection since 2006. It also helps to stay on the good side of the staff who can usually find something.

    Garmin Overlander

Seriously considering for my FJ. Done with the eeePC and Overland Navigator. Was going to go the iPad route but been using Garmins since the beginning. Much easier to mount using RAM balls, etc. And a $200 rebate right now.

Can the iPad really be used as an out-of-signal range, off-road GPS device?

For AZ what is the best Gaia topo to download? Confused with different subscription options.

Thanks. Great info. I have a Pro but it stays at home. The normal iPad is actually less than the mini. Agree Gaia sounds like a good way to go. Just using for AZ/ CA.

Can the iPad really be used as an out-of-signal range, off-road GPS device?

Getting ready to replace my old setup which used a Eee PC and Overland Navigator. I am thinking a new iPad Mini with cellular is probable the way I will go. I know this is an old thread but appreciate any recommendations (Apple or Garmin Overlander only). Using for AZ and maybe SoCal
