    Best place to live?!?!

Interesting how politics can make or break a location. I'll be honest and say, i've no idea about the US president race, bar Trump. I'm going to have a rant to feel free to make a decent British cup of tea, ( not that muck you Yanks try and serve up. That is not a cup of tea.. :p ) get a...

    Best place to live?!?!

In many ways Scotland is lovely. In many ways Scotland is not lovely. The scenery, landscape views, cities, people, sense of humour and history are great. Sadly, some of the people, humour and cities leave a lot to be desired. As much as i enjoy living here, it's fast becoming toxic, politics...

    The Defender discontinued

The Defender is being killed off because it finally can't get through EU pedestrian and emission regulations. They have kicked that can as far down the road as they can. It's as simple as that. You have never been able to get them with an air bag, they lost the side facing seats in 2007 due to...

    LR3 Underbody protection. i've bagged a bargain.

I'll find out in time i guess Don. My work pattern has changed dramatically so off roading trips or days out is going to be limited. However, i'm kicking about a career break for later this year and seeing further about it on Thursday. If i can make figures work, the D3 will get the final bits...

Post pictures of your Land Rover.

Went for a break last week up the highlands. Light bar got a work out on the long empty roads. Was handy for spotting a deer that made a last second dash across the road. Brake upgrade saves the front day. First picture is Glen Etive, that spot is where Bond and M stand next to the DB5 in Skyfall.

    LR3 Underbody protection. i've bagged a bargain.

I'm talking to Ben who works at Prospeed for the compressor gaurd. I will link this thread to him and say about the possible market they could expand into. I have the back ladder and it's a lovely bit of kit, suits the car and I've only ever seen 1 other car equipped with it. I've never seen...

    A little overwhelming...

Generally, it would be good to give a full service, change all filters, plugs and fluids. Good quality items and not cheap rubbish. The air filter needs done every 10-15k. LR say 45k for the diesel which is far too long. Tyre pressures can help a touch,

    LR3 Underbody protection. i've bagged a bargain.

Recently, i was shown a thread on a uk site of a guy stripping a lot of off road parts from his newly bought D4. The car in question was a Prospeed equipped car, the previous owner had bought everything on the catalog. 18 inch wheel package, rock and tree sliders, roof rack with flooring, and...

Land Rover Boise to the Rescue!!!

Britpart are known in the UK as "****part" and for a GOOD reason!! The "quality" of their stuff is terrible, I've had bad experiences with them and I wouldn't fit anything bar a brake disc from them. Someone spoke of the centre bearing, if that's on the rear propshaft, it's generally not a...

Need some advice on making offer on LR3

$3000 for a module??? ******K THAT!! I know the USA can be expensive but that's robbery. I took the cover off the module and would the brass rod back fully, reset the brake shoes and adjusted it. It's a £330 part new. I wasn't paying that for something that could get fixed in a couple of hours...

    Land Rover Buying Advice Wanted

I have an 05, I don't get what the fuss is about them being flakey etc. Mine is disappointingly reliable to the point of being boring. Haha. For the Disco3 ( I'm giving it the correct name :p ) records and history are everything. Get a car that's been looked after and it will serve you well...

    Monday Mods, 06 LR3 HD/SE

Remove the sound deadening under the bonnet, the clips pop out. Then just push the securing pins towards each other and the washer will slide out. I changed the heated washers on my 3 for the 4 ones as they are better.

1996-2004 Land Rovers - Which would be best to buy for 16 yo Daughter?

Yes. Had to bin the EGR valve, change the boost hoses to silicone ones and keep the crankcase filter changed every service. What's wrong with the v6 models?

1996-2004 Land Rovers - Which would be best to buy for 16 yo Daughter?

My first rover was a Freelander. Bought when I was 21, had it till I was 25 then moved to the Discovery 3. Was actually a decent car, he issues I had were down to a "specialist" being an ******** hole and lying to me over work. Comfy to drive, decent on fuel and had plenty of toys, handled really...

LR4 Roof Rack Flooring and EO2 Case mount project.

Actaully, I think we would class that as a superb temporary repair. And by temporary repair I mean the following saying "there's nothing more permanent than a temporary repair" If those cable ties were still there 6+ months later. The saying is proven correct once again. Over to Ray for the...

LR3 Xenon Replacement bulbs - thoughts & opinions

Also make sure your headlights are correctly aligned. They can be adjusted up/down left/right via little cog wheels at the top of the headlights. I compared mine to a mates D3 and mine were way out. Marked lines on ground for front wheels and where his beam went against a wall and adjusted...

LR3 Xenon Replacement bulbs - thoughts & opinions

Xenon bulbs for LR3 should be D2S and for best results should be near 4300k light output. Should help make searches easy.

LR3 Xenon Replacement bulbs - thoughts & opinions

This one is easy to justify. It's a safety modification. Look how cleared the headlights were on page 2. You can see better when driving at night and that's good for safety.

LR3 Xenon Replacement bulbs - thoughts & opinions

New bulbs only for my car. Done 2 years and roughly 35,000 miles ago. Personally, fit new bulbs and enjoy. Changing wiring etc is not needed.

LR3 Xenon Replacement bulbs - thoughts & opinions

ive never heard of the wiring upgrade myself. Xenon bulbs do degrade in output as they age. Mine were terrible to the point they couldn't light past 4 white lines on the road. Not ideal for winter nights. New ones are so bright I don't use my high beams any more. I only have the LR spots on my...
