Youwillforget .... that is just for the new 6 lug hubs with the racers and seal in. Im going to be using my existing dust cap and bearings as they are in good shape.
After looking around the web, I could have got them cheaper, but the guys at Redneck Trailer Supply were so helpful and patient...
OK I Called Redneck trailer supplies as suggested. Spoke with a really helpful guy by the name of Mike at the Alabama location, he had me read off the numbers printed on the inner and outer bearings. Turns out a 6 lug hub will fit just fine.
$84 each plus shipping (little more because I have...
These are all very helpful responses, thanks to everyone for the links, phone numbers and advice thus far.
The wheels are 6 on 5.5.
How do I determine the current 5 lug hub size for correct fitment of an adapter and if I need it to double up as a spacer or not?
Thanks!
OK guys, I have a LV-416 explorer trailer (made by Sierra 4x4 trailers - not the current Sierra 4x4 trailer company, but the one that went out of business years ago).
I want to replace the current 5 lug wheels with a couple of 6 lug 80 series landcruiser wheels.
Every trailer place I called in...
I had this problem on an old VW diesel pickup I once owned. The pressure was so tight the fuel tank imploded!
After I replaced the tank, I drilled a small hole in the gas cap, no more pressure issues.
Hmm not sure about an answer to your bonus question. Might be worth popping into the emmissions testing station and asking one of the guys.

Ive heard good things about those tanks...
Getting hold of the engine is the hardest part. After the tsunami in Japan, engines are becoming harder to source over there. There is still europe and australia, and some in canada but expect to pay 8-10k for a half cut (12k +) if your looking at specter off road. Then labor on top of that...
Dont worry, Im sure your 60 will forgive you ;)
Well after much research I decided to go with Proffitts. Doing this type of swap for them is almost like second nature ... well not quite, but they have done quite a few!
I wanted it done right the first time and after many a conversation with...
This is awesome thanks for posting up.
I too like many others have lusted over a diesel, and a few months back managed to source a 1hd-ft with a 5 speed manual that is currently being swapped into my 80. :smiley_drive:
I owned a diesel 60 that was built by lynchmob. I wanted him to do this swap...
Im currently swapping in a 1996 1HDFT 5 speed into my 80 series LC. I didnt see it covered here so thought I would mention it. Basically the same as the 1HDT but 24valve instead of 12. A little more power, but not that noticeable.
Not to be confused with the 1HDFTE that has electronic fuel...
Great looking trailer.
Can you post pictures with everything deployed? Would like to see the slide out drawer for the kitchen.
Also where are you located?
Thanks
