scrolled through most if not all of this build thread... nice work. I could not find a list of the appliances. Curious what you used for a water heater... and for a stove.
I just put a deposit down on a 2003 chevy box truck that was built as a race truck. Lots of cool stuff... loft bed that...
Registering in California should not be difficult.
As long as it's 25 years or older, it does not need to comply with federal NHSTA, EPA, DOT... and if older than 1998 and diesel, it doesn't need to comply with CA emissions.
Now... keeping up with traffic on roads in the U.S.? That's...
impressive build. Super sano. I like it. I'm a diesel nerd... but I spend a lot of time debating about how awful the 5 cylinder MBZ motor is for a Cruiser (even a 40 series). Maybe... MAYBE in a Hilux... but they don't fit well.
Do you think the slave cylinder can handle the exhaust that...

was selling my house and moving... Now re-motivated to sell.
Had the RV up the 24 Hours of Lemons this weekend. Here are some thoughts:
The Good:
Runs amazing. 6-speed plus 6BT is unbeatable.
Upgraded steering and springs makes this handle great.
It's so easy to drive. It feels a lot...

My goal was to buy/build a turbo-diesel, 4x4, manual transmission... Motorhome. Needle in a haystack. I can't afford an EarthRoamer... and I don't like Ford Powerstrokes. So, what I found was the Xplorer Xcursion. Xplorer built about 25 of these high-end Xcursions before going out of...
Wow. Really quality work.
I wonder how the steering will turn out... One of the benefits of the tie rod behind the axle in the stock 80 steering (and some aftermarket a la 4xabs) is the ability to have correct Ackerman steering geometry (nerd alert); especially helpful at slow speeds and tight...
Yes they do.
What I meant to say was: I forgot which sub-forum I was in. I read somehwre that Trailworthy can not recenter H1 military wheels to the Fuso style pattern. Not sure why... Maybe lack of demand?
Funny you bring up military; I'm now leaning toward the surplus H1 24-bolt beadlocks. They are pretty much a bolt-on wheel (for my Dodge 3500 4x4 motorhome; edit: forgot which forum this is... they cannot be recentered for you guys... Sorry). I can get 5 wheels with 37" goodyears with 90% tread...
I saw somewhere that these tires _used_ to be rated at 129Q (pre-2011) and now they are rated at 123Q. Difference of like 200kg I think?
Thinking of using a set of the 37x12.5x17 on a 10,000 lb motorhome. rated at 3700lbs each, should suffice, right??
