Sometimes a sudden change in plans can be a good thing.
Our original intention for the 3 day Memorial weekend was to drive out to a town just west of Phoenix...
Water crossings have never been an issue for me. I've always done them in 2wd and have even stopped in the middle with no indication of possibly getting stuck.
Point of focus would technically be the truck, but I set focus on the lens to infinity for nightscape shots.
The picture has been cropped a bit to bring the subject closer.
Some of the 2005 4.0 V6's experience head gasket failures. Toyota made a design change that remedied the problem from 2006 up. Other then that they are all the same (engine, trans, running gear).
Transmissions are near bulletproof.

Woke up to a beautiful...
We relaxed a bit before heading to the Rock Springs Cabin. It was at this point that the weather starting changing. For the worse. We noticed the fast moving clouds and darkness over the hill in the direction we were heading as well as sprinkles here and there.

It's been quite a few years since the last time I've done the Mojave Road. Not only had it been too long, but I've never experienced the trail proper. Always felt a rush to...
