Water crossings have never been an issue for me. I've always done them in 2wd and have even stopped in the middle with no indication of possibly getting stuck.

Point of focus would technically be the truck, but I set focus on the lens to infinity for nightscape shots. The picture has been cropped a bit to bring the subject closer.
