I believe, relative to air mattresses anyway ;), the Exped Mega is well made from quality & durable materials. Having said that I did have a seam fail last year on my Exped Megamat 10; got to feel what sleeping on it without air felt like :D. Exped warrantied it without issue...it was 4-years...
After researching this in greater ernest...I spoke to Brian at Diamond about this project. He's working up a scope of work for housing, axles & outers. I hope his Tundra FF project yields some cross-over parts/pieces for my FF project. Thinking about converting from OEM e-locker to Harrop...
^ I also have the Exped Duo Megamat for our Kodiak tent in addition to the MegaMat 10. The Duo is every bit as comfy as the 10. The only downside: When your SO moves or gets in/out of "bed" you will feel it and visa-versa. But I still sleep the best on my Expeds of ANY other mattress...
Jeez David...sorry to hear you've been laid up! Hope your impending surgery goes as planned and you have light speed recovery and are 'back in the saddle' in no time!

Anyone have the opportunity to have sat in the Kelty Linger High Back and the Helinox Sunset High back? Curious if one or the other has a little better arm support/arm "rests"?

@locrwln sent me this as inspiration (80/200 FF hybrid rear axle system)...
I too am following this thread in hopes of ordering a custom size mattress from him. But, as much as I hate to say it, this reminds me of the Sierra Trailer saga. When I had my former AT Horizon with the Maggiolina atop I tried several different foam mattresses before ending up with a 3"...
Use a 12" (or maybe 14"...I forget) padded nylon round dutch oven bag from It Fitz (branded Sportsman Warehouse) for my Magma pan/pot & 2-handle set.

Sorry, I wasn't clear: Can the two burners be physically separated? I.e. if you wanted to take/use just one of the two burners...without them being hitched together.
Thx
Dan
I may have missed this but can the burners be separated and used independently of one another (say you only want to take one burner with you...)? And, although I don't see them, any leg levelers or similar to level the burners?
Thanks grogie for your descriptive and informative post! I also had a Coleman Fold N Glow years ago...
Curious to hear your feedback on how the Jetboil Genesis does in wind. It should be fairly impervious to reasonable wind when using pots with the flux ring; curious to hear how it does with...
