bigsky - were you able to drive along the route past this bridge? It took me to a court type of turnaround at the top of the hill. Immediately to drivers left in the picture was a dirt road that looked like a dead end or possibly even someone's driveway. I decided not to go that way with my...
Well I got out and did it! The lower half at least up to BRF. It took way longer than I thought it would but I took it easy on the non-paved sections and took too many vids and pics! I posted up the writeup in my rig thread if anyone is interested. I highly recommend this to anyone with...
Thanks guys!! Some of the pictures (the larger dimension pics) are shot with my cell phone; LG G6, which is a line of phones I have been on for a while due to the camera quality. It actually has 2 rear facing cameras, one wide angle and one normal which is awesome and the HDR functionality is...
Dirt Adventure #2 in the books, this time with my trailer in tow! I decided to give the Trans Wisconsin Adventure Trail (TWAT) a try. I only had time to do the lower half of the route but it was pretty awesome. Nothing off-road label worthy but it was plenty of dirt to keep me happy and got...
So Rustoleum enamel is what I have used with both primer and without and the primer does help but its not like the pieces that were done at the manufacturer. Im debating just taking these parts to a shop to have powder coated cause I truly hate paint....not my strong suit. I can build it to last...
Looking for opinions here. What is the best combination of primer paint and coat for aluminum parts that are going to get some love taps from gravel and small rocks coming off my tires? My fenders and tongue channels are alum and I painted them myself but they took a beating on a recent trip...
Thank you for the recommendations!! This is awesome and just adding to my excitement for this mini-adventure! I am pulling a small home-built camper/trailer so I may have to check out the Homestead Inn another time but thank you for the tip. I have been up to Black River Falls once and I loved...
I am staying in Apple River Canyon Friday before starting the actual route on Saturday morning. I booked a site at Black River Falls Saturday night blindly (I assume I can make it there in 1 day). I don't know when I will get to BRF but if I get there early I may go farther north up the route...
Hate to dig up an old thread but this was a good read! Nice pictures too! I am doing the lower half of this route this weekend and I am glad I came across your post cause I will check out the stateline route and maybe that bridge along the way!
I love my Maxx, key to keeping it safe is to have it completely down while the rig is in motion, that way there is no leverage on the tabs and moving pieces when you hit bumps and that lid wants to drop. Good luck with the reverse mod, I would try that myself personally before replacing a fan...
I have the 70W version of this, and I really want to swap for the 120W but the 70W is great on its own. My Renogy 100Ah AMG battery holds charge long enough where I have not run out but I do lay the panel on my roof just to use it anyway. It folds up small enough to fit in my tongue box. Has...
I've been stalking you guys for a few months watching and learning from your various adventures. In the past few years I have been getting more and more into camping and back to my outdoor roots, so much so that I built a camper last summer (more to come on that in the near future). I finally...
I highly recommend the Tapered Zip extensions...they come with poles so you can have it out but in reality I only use them as walls which adds an insane amount of shade, privacy and protection from the elements.
