    F450 vs F550 for Poor Man's Earthroamer

for this i personally would use a fun ton. f350 3500hd or dodges which is a 3500 also i believe and i would go gas, sooo much cheaper in every aspect. every aspect. look here, toyota used a half ton with an 8 inch axle. just how much truck do u need? the 450/550 is a commercial truck...

explain to me again why the engine is coming out? a clean chain attachment is threaded boss holes on the block. generally i like to remove as much of the engine as i can while its in the car (its a convienant cradle and i can look for clues to its condition or demise ) all the way down to the...

A great big clunk. what is it?

yes i agree about rear suspension issues. on these rigs the rear is actually more prone to wear as there are fewer attachment points. the minute i get loose cash , im going after the bushing kit there in ADD. the bushings at the body attachment point for the trailing arms are first priority...

A great big clunk. what is it?

14th street complex.... sounds kinda like my fantasy montero ranch. i get the feeling its like a tie rod binding up, but if it did that would be due to misalignment between tie rod and knuckle. ....dont make sense.

A great big clunk. what is it?

likely thats my guess too. no evidence of that in the normal methods of testing. no funny tire wear, but im guessing along with you. im preparing a wholesale replacement of the front suspension, and that will eliminate the problem, but would like to pinpoint b4 i change everything. thx how...

A great big clunk. what is it?

gen 1 montee lwb. the front right side and sometimes the left side will "unbind" on hard braking , low speed going backward. roll out of the garage and down the steep drive, stab brakes in a normal fashion, there is a loud pop, snap, or an unbinding of something over there. rig drives true...

that rig is gorgeous. i was expecting the usual dilapidated clunker. the newer have a AWD option the gen2 guys can explain better. it gives a lot and not much at all depending on your expectations. its not simple to adapt to you 91

EyeInTheSky's Gen 3 Budget Build Thread

betting the lower end is good and solid probably dont need to go any deeper than you are! If so a jdm engine might be your best way out of the swamp. worse heavy mods to these engines net poor increase in performance. "baggies of bolts!" thats for sissies!! .
