    INEOS Grenadier

Cool render. That's the dream list: rigid axles high-payload triple-locked medium-sized pop-top wagon on steelies, and all brand-new Nothing has ticked all those boxes in the U.S. market since the 80 Series (noting aftermarket pop tops) or G Wagon. Functionally, it's the modern-day version of...

    INEOS Grenadier

I appreciated this critical look at Grenadier from a remote touring standpoint. It notes lack of fuel range, suspension travel, and approach/breakover/departure angles among potential shortcomings.

Minimum EV Range Requirement for Touring Western U.S.

I agree that EV truck range is, or will soon be, similar to many ICE vehicles' range (300 or so miles). But the lack of charging stations in remote places requires more range from EV trucks than ICE trucks (in my opinion).

Minimum EV Range Requirement for Touring Western U.S.

I've been thinking about minimum EV range requirements for remote touring in the western U.S. There are obviously many factors to consider, most notably a region or route's density of or distance to fast chargers, and of course each person's tolerance for range anxiety. My gut feeling is...

Who's lining up to buy a 2023 Sequoia and NOT a 2022 Tundra?

Surely the third row can be removed, no? Unbolted if not unlatched and removed...

    2024 Silverado (Avalanche) EV

You could be right. Maybe that's an optional rather than standard battery. But I've seen zero information on a different battery option. Here's the press release. https://media.chevrolet.com/media/us/en/chevrolet/home.detail.html/content/Pages/news/us/en/2022/jan/ces/0105-2024-silverado.html...

    Why buy a land cruiser?

I think they did a great job. For me, it's too long and wide and sacrifices too much off-road nimbleness. But overall--the rigid axle, rear locker, four wheel drive systems, increased capacities and efficiency--I think they did a fantastic job making Sequoia far better suited to remote touring...

Who's lining up to buy a 2023 Sequoia and NOT a 2022 Tundra?

While I'm not lining up to get one, it's inarguable that (1) the new Sequoia is far better suited to remote touring than the previous generation, and (2) concurrent generations of Sequoia and Land Cruiser have never been more similar. I welcome the hybrid platform for sake of efficiency, cost...

2004 Tacoma vs. 1997 Land Cruiser: Long Term Ownership

Did someone say underwater with an 80 series?

    2024 Silverado (Avalanche) EV

For "overlanding" the WT is the most compelling EV I've seen given price, range and charge rate: Price: $40K Range: 400 miles of range Rate: 100 miles / 10 min All that range (battery) comes at the cost of payload, but in my opinion that's payload well spent. Ironically, I think the "work...

Why are most aftermarket wheels so BroDozer?

I too disdain 99% of aftermarket wheels. For F-150, I've always liked these steelies--timeless, functional, understated--all business.

    Why buy a land cruiser?

It's a shame that Bronco wasn't built above the axles to accommodate more payload. After release of the Ranger, I had hopes.

    Why buy a land cruiser?

    I absolutely would too.

    Why buy a land cruiser?

Yep. Or even just SR5, if available with stand-alone options for HD and mechanical locking differentials (I don't need any other mechanical complexity in the 4WD system) would be great. Adding just 300-400 lbs of payload (SR5 is around 1600 as is) would make a world of difference.

    Why buy a land cruiser?

Wow. Then that's very, very, (and a third) very slow--so slow that, for me, it's almost attractive just for sake of novelty and contrarianism! And yeah, the 4.0 is a great little motor.

    Why buy a land cruiser?

This is exactly my analysis too, point by point. I would add that, over time, alongside and perhaps as a result of luxury bloating, payload capacity of North American Land Cruiser offerings (100s, 200s) has diminished quite a bit, whereas the 70s have remained around the one-ton mark. It's too...

    Why buy a land cruiser?

After three decades of driving a 3FE I have no qualms with under-powered, reliable motors. I'm perfectly content at 65 mph on the interstate. But for my use, diesel isn't desirable because Pemex stations don't reliably sell it. Mexican fisherman often buy up what supply is available, causing...

    Why buy a land cruiser?

Good discussion--and I would argue a fair amount of vigorous agreement. Another reason I would buy a beautiful new 76 if I could (in addition to its small size and large payload) is the simple fact of its durability and reliability. I don't like or want to do lots of PM; of course, if I have...

This is such a beautiful truck. It obviously reflects countless hours of careful time and work. Very nice work.
