Flatbed and composite panel build on Dodge 2500

Wallas exhaust comes in a plastic housing, nice to see exhaust engineered to run cool enough to put in a plastic housing but wasn't going to work for me so I built the following form aluminum. Back view Installed Spiders eye view Lonseal Lonzebra flooring. Tough stuff. Front...

Flatbed and composite panel build on Dodge 2500

Go for the 3500, I've put a few miles on it in the last couple of days empty and the ride is fine with the HD set up. The little bumps are a little more noticeable most likely due to 10 ply tires, but it eats the bigger stuff up better, and handling is noticeably better. There's no downside to...

Thanks! She's looking a little farmeresque without the cabinets but should have those done next week. Camper gets mounted this weekend.

Yeah it's nice that it fits there, Ford Super Duty's will fit a 35 under the frame too, if I recall correctly we used to fit a 37 under the Ford, just had to loosen the exhaust clamps and give it a little twist.

Flatbed and composite panel build on Dodge 2500

Truck is almost done, Toyo MT E rated 35's, custom rear spring packs with 6 leafs plus the lower, no more blocks, Pro Comp MX6 adjustable shocks all around, 2009+ steering linkage upgrade, new Moog ball joints, and a Pro Comp steering stabilizer with a nice beefy bracket that sits dead center...

Flatbed and composite panel build on Dodge 2500

Thanks! We love our bikes, it's amazing how much motorcycles let you experience. I didn't put a permanent take in our trailer, a lot of the cross country races we do have fuel drops so we use 10 liter cans, easy size to store in racks, and easy mixing for the 2 strokes. One thing we found to is...

Flatbed and composite panel build on Dodge 2500

That should work out pretty good. If you do a good set of drawings you can insert framing for slide openings into the wall panel and then cap the opening once the hole is cut, plenty strong. I'd like to see what you have in mind for tracks and rollers, I used a very heavy duty tube in a tube...

Composite Camper Design for 3/4 Ton Dodge

Barry Controls is an awesome company, if you give them a call they will most likely put you in contact with an application engineer. I worked with them on a couple of high vibration jobs and used similar mounts with great success. You will probably have to go fairly big for the application but...

    The Bowman Odyssey Rig

Quick question Zach, as this is coming up in a lot of other threads, how big is your grey tank, and are you finding it fills up too fast or being an inconvenience in any way? Some of us are thinking of shrinking the grey.

Flatbed and composite panel build on Dodge 2500

Making a couple changes and fixing the only worn parts left in this truck! Rear springs are rated at 2600 lbs per spring, ALMOST the lightest springs you can get in a Dodge 3/4 ton. 4+1 leaf, going to add 2 leafs to each side to bring them into the 3500 pound range. I like to spring the truck...

Flatbed and composite panel build on Dodge 2500

Yup, but it's all for function, all that stuff comes in at just over 100 lbs so not the worst for weight. I will still have lots of room left on a 3500. Some food for thought, by going from .125 aluminum to .102 aluminum for the wet bath and the main cabinet and all the little pieces that go...

Flatbed and composite panel build on Dodge 2500

Which latches? If you're referring to the ones to lock it down to the bed, I designed and built a set that keep 500 lb of tension on the mount and have 1.25" of travel per latch. I can change the springs out to go anywhere from 100 lb to 1200 lb tension so there will be a little testing after...

Flatbed and composite panel build on Dodge 2500

Maybe one day I'll build one big enough to take a knuckle boom to get the spare tires and bikes off of the back! How cool would that be? We like Palfinger, Hiab is good solid stuff too but never really evolved with modern metals, so we end up a lot lighter in the crane dept with Palfinger. I...

Flatbed and composite panel build on Dodge 2500

Got a little more done, gravity water fill #1, idea was sound, didn't quite put the fill hose at a nice enough angle so rebuilt it. Version 2.0 Got the awning, was nice just to drill and tap all the mounting holes. Using a Dometic 9500 case awning, no arms, fast deploy and retract, auto...

Flatbed and composite panel build on Dodge 2500

The HC core is supposed to have R 1.5 - R 2 per inch for insulation value, although nobody has an actual value for any panel, just theoretical. I wouldn't worry about the altitude at all. Today, I wouldn't use anything else, maybe XPS core for a little more insulation value. One thing to note...

With our new government that will be a very long wait, we forecast 6-8 years before we even see a.85 cent dollar.

    Dodge Ram 5500 motorhome

We fill our 60 gallon grey tank after 4 days but that's with 4 of us also having a couple showers. We do have an overflow that lets us bypass after the grey tank is full. I'd try to keep that 30 gallon tank for two people, you may not always be in a place where you can just let it flow on the...
