Desert Expedition IV trip Report: Mojave Road

Nice write up Martin! Your post rekindled the memories of when a few of us explored Mojave Road in mid-June of '09. It was so wet and muddy in central and northern Nevada that year and even though Mojave Road wasn't apart of our original trip plan...the extremely wet conditions we experienced...

Am I Crazy? Landcruiser to a Powerwagon with FWC?

24HOURSOFNEVADA basically did the same move...only he went from a 100 for the family explore rig to a Powerstroke + FWC. AFAIK he's still rolling and camping in the FWC set-up.

AT IT AGAIN: Paul and Mike Convert a Mid/Tall T1N Sprinter Cargo

The tambour style doors are slick! Question: I would assume the gap clearance, between the tambour doors and the track, is critical otherwise if too tight the doors are sticky to operate...and if too loose they rattle in transit? How do you insure they are rattle/noise free?

    Any bird hunters?

^ I have a soft spot for GWP too! '13/'14 was one of the toughest years in Nevada for chuks...which means to get shots you had to cover more ground...due for a big rebound year coming up!

    100 Series Family Adventure Rig

Ok...dumb question...sorry if its already been asked: Why not reverse fridge and drawer unit location so over-the-shoulder blind spot glance (with dog crate) is a little less interrupted?

Cooking with griddle on a propane grill?

^ yes I can confirm that is a very nice griddle indeed! That is the only thing I don't like about the Partner stove...the pesky o-rings...geez sounds close to PHH :D

Cooking with griddle on a propane grill?

Partner Steel warns not to use a full size griddle on their stoves that covers all burners. Being a rebel without a cause sometimes :D I threw caution to the wind...and although the griddle worked without issue I did notice the needle valves getting sticky faster...which is part of the reason...

    pot and pans

The shown pot protectors, assuming the "arms" of the design come up the sides of the pan,...and made from silicone or similar grabby material should do the trick! Look forward to your feedback Corey.

Fresh Ground Tool: Pharos Coffee Hand Grinder

Product update: I've been using the Orphan Espresso Pharos everyday for house espresso & cappuccinos for the past year...love it. It also served up to 10-double espressos/capps per day apart of two group explores this year...without a hiccup. But OE has updated the design on the little...

    LC 100 question.

Also to add: Every rig has a weak link; the 100/470 being no exception. The biggest glaring issue, IMO, to address sooner rather than later is the relatively front diff ring carrier. Upgrading to an ARB locker up front should be high on your priority list. And if you're thinking "...I'm not...

    LC 100 question.

Not sure what your wrenching skills are/are not and/or if you are Toyota familiar or not. Relatively easy to work on with the exception of the rack & pinion if/when needs swap out and same for rear axle bearing system. Other than that I found my '99 100 to be very easy to work on overall...
