I had a Medium Maggilina Grand Tour mounted on my 100 series but sold it. I replaced it with a small Airtop. I'm using Thule Crossroads mounts and load bars.
The lock goes where the circle plug is in this pic. The whole end cap comes off and has an Allen key attached to it. Thats what you use to tighten/loosen the strap that goes around the stock roof bars.
^ I feel your pain man, I've had 5 RTTs. I'm currently running a Maggiolina Airtop which is more aerodynamic and doesn't effect gas mileage as bad as the fold out style tents. Maybe you could rig up a small lift/hoist to help remove the tent?
I keep mine on year round. It's a pain to take off and on. As far as someone stealing a RTT, most people have no idea what a RTT is let alone how to remove it.
The Sequioa won't hold up like a LC will. The LC has forged internals where as the Sequioa has cast internals. While I do like the look of the Sequioa, they just aren't made to last.
