I had an 01 Grand and now have an 04 4Runner. Both HD a 4.0 6 cylinder. The jeep has the straight 6 and the 4Runner a V6. There is no comparison between the 2 motors. The toyota gets much better mileage and has much more power.
I do a camper, the grad has a HORRIBLE tow vehicle, the...
I have a 4th generation. I really don't off road, I use my Wrangler 4 that. If I were to build out the 4Runner I would go with a suspension lift, larger tires, armor underneath, bumpers and rocker protection.
The bumper and steps on a 4th generation are EXTREMELY vulnerable when it comes to...
I have An 01 Wrangler and at this point as a family we rarely take it very far. It is just too crowded. We have an 04 4Runner which is great for road trips and dirt roads but even though it is 4x4 it is the a good choice for an off road vehicle.
I would love to get a 1st gen 4Runner.
Battery operated tools have come a long way in the last few years, esp with prices coming down as they have. At this point I find it hard to justify buying another pneumatic tool or a compressor any larger than needed to inflate tires.
SCBA and SCUBA tanks will be filled to very high pressures, 4500 psi plus. The tanks have to be checked on a regular basis to make sure they are in good shape. The compressors that fill them also have to be checked on a regular basis for health reasons because they are producing breathable...
I run air for my lockers and for airing up tires. I have never carried air tools on the trail but had them in the garage. My impact wrench is starting to die and I have been looking at battery operated impact wrenches. Craftsman has I saw last week for about 160 bucks with 300ft-lbs torque...
I couldn't imagine using an RTT esp with my family. I know they appeal to many but I can imagine going somewhere, setting up camp and not being able to use my vehicle and space ican be tight. When we go we like to check out the area and don't want a crowded living area.
We trailer camp...
I have carried fuel inside vehicles for almost 30 years as a Soldier and now as a civilian. I have always used scepter MFC and never had an issue with leaks or fumes. As long as the cans are used correctly and in good repair you won't have issues with them. I even called DOT information and...
Depends on how you camp. My oldest and I can head for a weekend and fit everything in a couple Kayaks, or in my TJ. Add the wife and the youngest and I barely fit everything in my 4Runner and camper. In the camper we have a fridge and freezer and take a cooler. When it is my oldest and I we...
I think this what is important to now. For a while the Wrangler Rubicon came with E rated MTRs and people didn't like them. They road hard and didn't conform to the terrain. I had friend that got a set of E rated MTRs for his Tacoma and he had the same problem.
I always buy for the weight of...
True but it is also part off this discussion. It is important people get information, otherwise there is no reason for forums like this. Here is the link to the other discussion. There is good info here but be also some trash...
I can.
I have ripped E rated truck tires will cutting fire wood in areas less rough they where I run my Jeep with the C rated (ones designed to have strong wall against puncture) skidding logs our to the truck with the E rated tires.
The sidewall on the E rated tires on my truck are...
