Which has the most cargo area? 80 or 60

Both of these series have their quirks. I have owned a 60 and an 80 at the same time, still own the 80. I also owned a 3rd gen 4Runner. Both the 60 and the 80 will both need a lot of PM if they have been neglected. Toyota parts are not cheap, but the quality is excellent. I miss my 60, but...

C rated tires too light for a 4x4 Van?

Sorry those links stopped working for some reason. The two tires I was looking at in 33x12.5x15 were Hankook DynaPro ATM RF10 and Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac. They both have 108 load ratings, which equals a load carrying capacity of 2205lbs. E rated tires of the same variety have 124 load...

    Good deal on used Scepters?

RJ40, thanks for the response. Where did you get the new gaskets? Is there a good source to buy Scepter fill nozzles? I saw a used one on ebay for like 60 bucks! I would also be curious to hear what they cost "new", or maybe I don't want to know. I never thought I would consider buying two...

    Good deal on used Scepters?

What does everyone think of these? http://cgi.ebay.com/Scepter-Military-Fuel-Can-MFC-set-of-2-used_W0QQitemZ280453163506QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item414c4fa9f2 I have a hard time Spending $80 on one new Scepter, but two used for the same price seems reasonable. They don't...

C rated tires too light for a 4x4 Van?

Posted this in general, see if it gets more response here. So I have an 87 Dodge Quigley 4x4 van with 15x8 steel wheels and some crappy MT's. It looks like all they sell in a 33x12.5x15 tire is a C rated tire. Question is, are these rated too light for a full size van? Trying to stay on budget...

C rated tires too light for a 4x4 Van?

These are the two tires that are in contention at the moment: http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/findTireDetail.do?pc=10860&counter=1&ar=1250&rd=15&sw=false&cs=33 http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/findTireDetail.do?pc=31940&counter=1&ar=1250&rd=15&sw=false&cs=33 Each link has a...

What kind of headlight bulbs do you use?

Anyone run Roundeyes on here? I read favorable things about them, and they use H4 bulbs which I have been happy with in my 80 series. I bought a set for my gf's Jeep, they have yet to arrive. http://www.roundeyes.com/Toyota_Headlamps-Rectangular_Toyota_Conversion_Headlamps.html

So I have an 87 Dodge Quigley 4x4 van with 15x8 steel wheels and some crappy MT's. It looks like all they sell in a 33x12.5x15 tire is a C rated tire. Question is, are these rated too light for a full size van? Trying to stay on budget, but I would upgrade to 16" rims to be able to run E...

Feeler: Engel MT 60 in PA

IMO, price too high. It's 1160 on Sierra Exp, plus the 180 for the bag. Plus it was worked on, and hopefully the new compressor was installed correctly. I'd love it, but couldnt pay near what you are asking. Drop the price a little and see what happens. Best of luck with the sale.

    87 Dodge Quigley... Sportsmowho?

That makes sense about the Ford axle, and I had a hunch that was the only reason it was used. Perhaps I watched too much of the A-team and that is the reason the van sits next to my house now haha. That plus the fact that my old man has always had Dodge conversion vans, just no 4wd's. I...

    87 Dodge Quigley... Sportsmowho?

First off my title was just a joke, so no offense meant. This is certainly nowhere near a SMB, but it is mine all mine, no second mortgage necessary. I had been casually searching for a 4x4 van for awhile, and had not found much in my price range. I prefer Dodges as far as vans go, I am just...

    gtrv style homebuilt van

Thanks for the reply. I have had good luck with covering entire panels with sound deadener like you did. It was only when I ran into that site did I consider using small pieces like you mentioned to control vibrations, then using a heavy rubber or vinyl sheeting to actually block sound. Not...

    gtrv style homebuilt van

Nice job so far, gives me some good ideas. I have a few questions for you if you don't mind. I just purchased an 87 Dodge Quigley van. I have thought of doing very similar to what you did with the sound deadening / insulation. So, I have read a lot about using the roofing material for sound...

How many of use are really prepared to live a long life?

Take from it what you will... http://www.westonaprice.org/moderndiseases/benefits_cholest.html Always remember to do your own research. Believe it or not what the big drug companies are selling you might not be in your best interest. And some of the most well-meaning doctors may not know any...

Cheap $$ bike capable of cross country expeditioning?

sorry I haven't responded in a long time, but thanks to all for the responses. I should be able to make a really sound decision now when the time and $$ are there. I think the KLR650 is almost undeniably the way to go, as long as I can comfortably handle it as a noob. I'm close to 6' and a...

    It's done! 3.0-liter turbo-diesel FJ60 from TLC

he's right, I've used Dynamat multiple times but RAAMAT kills it in my opinion... excellent sound deadening and unreal adhesion, awesome customer support, and a great price to boot. Looks like his next generation stuff is on sale now too. I did the inner and outer door panels alone on my 80...

    35" tire underneath?

best option IMO if you don't want to go with the rear tire carrier, carry it on the roof, or inside is to run this bad boy: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ssw-sam-21?part=ssw-sam-21\ Mount it on a 7" wide wheel if you can, and do the spare tire mod... the tire will be tucked up very nicely...

Cheap $$ bike capable of cross country expeditioning?

That Honda looks like the ticket! What model is it, an NX250? Thanks for the advice Hltoppr, and the heads up on the Enduros. I'll keep my eyes open on that site and on craigslist.

Cheap $$ bike capable of cross country expeditioning?

First off, I'm a total newb when it comes to bikes, so please forgive my stupidity! I was crusing the local CL and ran across a mid 70's Yamaha Enduro 2500CC for under a grand. This got my gears turning as I have always wanted to do long distance solo motorcycle trips. By long distance I mean...
