I always stuff my sleeping bag, down or synthetic but as for my tent I end up rolling it most of the time. This is partly because I'm anal and want it neat and it packs so much nicer in the bag it came in. However, when on the trail, I mostly stuff the tent in my backpack.
I like your comments and I really have more design to do. I was thinking of only having min. space to stand up in when the bed is deployed. Mostly when the bed will be in place will only be for sleeping. Otherwise there will be a bench seat to sit on and other space to move. It's gonna be...
Right. It wouldn't take much. You could build in some alum. brackets in the corners and have a frame go up in the opening attached to it, that would create the bed platform.
I love thinking of this stuff but don't know for sure if I'd ever carry through with it. ;) Wish I had places to...
BTW, Image 88 on your Picasa Page has got to be from the Outer Banks. Only one of those guys could every come up with something like that just to fish on the beach.
Dude it's totally possible. I've thought about doing the same thing to my shell. I also am trying to design a slide in camper with a pop top like a FWC but slighly different.
Good luck with your set up. I don't think it'd be very hard. Use Marine grade canvas, have some professional sew in...
Thanks for that link. I have seen that one before. I want mine to be a soft sided configuration a lot like the Four Wheel Camper, except a different shape, look and interior height.
You know I asked myself some of those questions while I was designing it. The only reason why it doesn't pop up the whole length is because it really isn't nesc. to pop up on the over cab part since that's where the bed will be. That's also the reason why there's so much hard sidewall instead...
What do you think of the initial design.
Would be going on my '04 Dak. I'm looking to make it out of the Nida Fiber Stuff.
Speaking of which, I have a call into the company but could anyone here tell me how much that stuff is for a sheet?
Thanks.
It looks nice. I'm thinking more like the SuperCamper (???) but as a slide in.
Now I'm thinking a trailer...
I don't know. I want both. I don't really understand the whole teardrop trailer thing. I'm assuming it's solely for sleeping in. I guess either would work for it. I'll design...
