I can answer the butterfly issue...this issue is only for the Gen 2 montero and only with the DOHC 3.5 motor, the genny 2.5 and early genny 3 monteros had the 3.5 SOHC motor which do not have butterfly valves.

yep...it should be $1800 with the tires and rack, but i dont think its a horrible price as you have it now. BTW, your monty doesnt have a front bumper, thats not helping the sale at all

so when you have these locked, thats the same as stock genny 2? All 4wd options can still be utilized when locked, like the AWD?

what are the advantages to using these, versus a stock setup on a Gen 2?

$8000 for a jeep...seems like a fair price...youve made some real nice additions to it...headlight conversion, "full" guages, tint, tow hooks, and a sweet battery. I think you can get your asking price :)

when u start the vehicle, the rear wheels should be a solid green (dash indicator lights)...when you switch to 4hi, the front 2 wheels should blink (while engaging, for me they blink for 2 sec), then turn a solid green when fully engaged. For 4hi locked, 4 low locked, front differential blinks...

100% absolutely...I wish that was selling here, i would def consider getting it. It looks like its in great shape from the pics, with a R/D locker, leather looks good, and under 4K with some negotiation room. As long as its mechanically sound, looks like a very good deal

that sounds like the classic valve guide seal problem...im assuming (hoping) that when he did the belts, the timing belt and water pump were replaced as well, that seems like alot of oil burning, but it may be due to the area you drive...city driving with bad valve guide seals=much more oil burning.

Peter? i was hoping you would consider a gen 2.5. Im assuming you mean the gen3 from 01 and 02 as they had the 3.5 motor, i think they started with the 3.8 (which doesnt have the valve guide seal problem as far i know) in 03. Thats a great question as i know they updated the seals but im not...

I may have some faulty coil packs, and im just wondering how i go about testing them I know you can buy an ignition spark tester and hook it up to a coil to see if it sparks, but ive heard this can sometimes be unreliable I think you can use a voltmeter and do some measurement, and im wondering...
