I spent 4 months last year looking for an 08/09 diesel 15 passenger with 4WD that was sub-$40k. And even since then havent seen many. I got a good deal on my 5.4L 08, but this would certainly make for a great build.

I'm currently rapping up some work on my new (2008) Quigley Ford van. We added a sofa-sleeper in rear and want to strip out the semi-attached factory installed rubber flooring and replace with something more appealing. Needs to host kids, dogs, wheelchair, beach runs and extended voyages yet...
