yeah they are bad, I did a quick job when I got it (2 years ago). I need to go over it again, probably part of the reason why my headlights aren't bright as well!
They aren't wired yet. I wanted to make sure I got them mounted first. Going to wait for the wiring until I have access to a heated and well lit garage.
I was just going to use the wiring that came with them to avoid cutting them up. But after a quick look it doesn't appear to be very easy to...
Funny you should mention that. Just got them on an hour ago. They have no play in the vertical direction but do want to rock back and forth.
I will be replacing them with something stiffer and stronger. But it was only a $10 test and I learned that its a great way to mount them, and now I know...
my brother has dual ARBs in his JK, work pretty well! also great for on board air. Large start up cost especially if you cant do the work yourself.
A locker would be nice but in my case I dont know how much I would use it (go around rather than through at this point) Although the next vehicle...
I finally managed to get the other busted fog light off the driver front of the truck (metal cut-off wheel).
The stock mounts were rusted and now cut in half, so I have been thinking for quite awhile on what I was going to do. I had thought about drilling and mounting into the plastic bumper...
I really like your bumper, I like how tucked in to the front of the truck it is. I hate how the ARB sticks way out front, makes the truck look bulbous.
If I were looking for a bumper I would be looking to get one of those!
you have torsion bars up front, pretty common (or was 10 years ago) suspensino design. Alot of the GM Trucks, 100 Series Land Cruisers use this design. Basically its a metal rod that is used to hold the front end up. When it is locked into the mounts you impart twist (torsion) on it which...
haha I have gone through the same thing in my head a million times. I have a new set of leaf springs in the back (about an inch of lift, but with extra load capacity). I have new torsion bars (sway away) in the front which are capable of getting up to 3" extra lift.
However, you will not be...
Ill be pushing 120 000 miles very soon. Sometimes they put a sticker on the rad for the timing belt change but its good to baseline all that stuff. Have fun with the spark plugs! The back two are a serious pian to access.
My rear main seal is leaking a little. Not worth ripping everything a...
It would feel about a half inch taller at the drivers seat due to the inch taller tires.
The 2002 to 2004 came with 265 70 R16
2000 and 2001 4WD X's came with 255 65 R16 tires. Yours would be sitting well over and inch taller at the drivers seat vs these. If the previous owner had used it...
Why do you think its lifted? Tires are slightly larger than stuck, but Xterras can run 265 75 R16 or 235 85R16 without a lift. Usually the mud flaps get in the way, and it looks like your rears have been removed and the front ones cut off as well?
