You are going to have to wait a little longer for pictures. We have finished up at Bald eagle state forest and got a motel room tonight in williamsport to wash the dust of and watch some football. The next few days will be more touristy stuff and some hiking, so the offroad portion is done
Bald...
Quick update while I have some wifi access.
Trip is going great so far. Zero issues with the Xterra. We spent two days exploring the Allegheny National Forest. Its pretty large so we mostly stayed to the Northern half. Most of it was fire roads but we did manage to find some technical stuff...
We will forgive you, for now
I would think for 15 to 20 k you could get a really nice 100 series with a V8, rear locker and rediculous afternarket support. All while being more capable than the pathfinder or Armada.
Welcome! Looks good.
Don't get too caught up on the independent suspension stuff. I can see under my truck when I'm driving so if it gets me where I want to go I see no issues.
Post up a build thread when you have time, looks loike you have done some work!
one final "mod" before we hit the road
had this sitting in my garage for a few months, I was unsure of where to put it, but I just went for it, seems like a good out of the way spot
I don't have much any personal experience with them
I do know that they share a frame with the Frontier/Xterra/Titan.
They do have, however, fully independent suspension which could be a plus or minus depending on use.
Looks like the tow rating is somewhere around 6500 #
I actually didn't end up putting them on. I couldn't remember how close they were to needing new pads rotors so I brought them anyways. The ones that were (and are) on the truck will last me awhile longer.
Did you ever get your brake issues sorted out ?
My intent is to enjoy nature not tear through exhaust blaring. Ill leave the loud exhaust for cars
I got the rotors and pads off a guy for $80 with 4 plastic centre caps. I figure it was a pretty deal
Stock replacement, considered going performance but I figured the gains would be minimal and I have done the loud exhaust thing before, quiet is nice sometimes
Here are a few pictures from the weekend.
Parts set out ready to work
Walker exhaust, 2 pieces, y pipe and muffler/tailpipe assembly
Oil change stuff, brake rotors and pads (which I didn't end up need quite yet)
Installed
The exhaust was missing a mount, so we welded some flat...
