RUD Chains? Where to get them?

Its interesting looking at tire chain.com - they stock some serious chains. I find it interesting that they do not recommend the diamond chains for off-road use. The perfered chains are the ladder chains with double cross chains.

New member with a big delima any input would be great.

The truck is Awesome! Buy a used ECHO for a daily driver, leave her car alone. My friend has that truck with an automatic and it gets the same milage as my Tacoma.

    Added Exterior Side lights...

Interesting mounting them to towards the rear of the vehicle. A lot of OTR busses have them mounted towards the front of the bus. They are activated when the bus is in Reverese, and when the turn signals are activated the appropriate light turns on. Similar lights are mounted on Sno-cats. IMO...

    Dual Battery Fuse

I think the fuse on both ends of the Positive Cable would be prudent way to prevent a vehicle fire. A short on the cable would be provided power from both batteries. Does present some problems for high current applications.

Suburban 2500 vs Power Wagon vs Tundra

Thanks for all the input. I welcome all the outside the list thinking. Like everyone else - a PW with a cummins would be way over the top. I like the thought of a PW w/ flip pack. Just dreaming at this point, but trying to get the stars to align. With my luck Dodge will stop making the PW...

To supercharge or not...that is the question...

Keep us posted on your delima. I have a Gen 2 TRD Sport and a small 10' pop-up camper. Currently the set-up is a perfect match. The truck can pull the small trailer all over the place with out hesitation. However, a 10' pop-up is really small for the wife, 7 year old, Lab and Newfoundland. We...

TreadWright - I want skinnies, but are they LOUD?

I have purchased the earlier model, the OTR Mud on two differnt vehicles. The first set was for a 3/4 Ton Chevy Pick-up Truck, and a second set on a Jeep TJ. Yes - The tire make noise. They don't really howl, but they do make some noise. You can also feel the large tread blocks while driving...

New Tacoma TSB Gas Pedal and ECU Program

Recal I just had it done to my 06 TRD Sport - The crew did a good job with the pedal modification. Works just fine and you really have to look at it to notice that its not origional. However, if you take your truck in for the recal, and you have the "Toyota All Weather Floor Mats" remove them...

Best A/T Tire for My '08 Taco?

If you want a mild A/T tire - consider the Michelin LTX M/S2, LTX A/T2, or LTX M/S. The are not the cheapest tires on the market, but they will run along time, and IMO will out work/wear the BFG Rugged Trail. They are great tires that wear very well, ride nice on the road, and can take some fair...

    Tacoma OEM Mud Flaps

My thoughs exactly - they OEM ones are too stiff and do drag going over a curb. I still want to run a mud flap especially during the winter trying to keep the muck off the truck, and keep the sand/gravel from trashing the sides.

    Tacoma OEM Mud Flaps

Thanks for the help with the OEM parts. I am also trying to find some with metal backing at the top, then a more flexible rubber. I also remember seeing one with an attachment point at the bottom for a cable/chain to keep them from getting backed over? Thoughts?
