    Mounting to exterior of FWC?

Thank you all for the info, gives me a great starting point. craig333 Is the AT jack bracket just a piece of angle with holes in it, or is it more sophisticated than that?

    Mounting to exterior of FWC?

How do people go about mounting things to the exterior of their FWC? I just picked up a Hawk Shell and was thinking it would be great to mount my Maxtrax, Trasharoo, possibly a couple jerry can mounts to the back or sides of the camper. I've looked at the Adventure Trailer jerry can mounts...

What do you put between your camper and truck bed?

Wondering what, if anything, people put between their camper and truck bed? I have heard of people using a horse stall mat or heavy duty truck bed mat. Does this keep a slide in camper more secure, add height, etc?

80/20 Extrusions for roof rack for FWC?

I'd be happy to, thinking it will be a few months before it gets done as were locked into winter pretty tight here in Wyoming. Hopefully I can get the bugs worked out of the design by spring, lol.

80/20 Extrusions for roof rack for FWC?

Good point about deflection, I hadn't thought about that. I'll have to see how far apart the rails can be placed and do some math. 80/20 has a deflection calculator on their site. (how cool is that) I plugged in 75lbs and 60in span and got .29in evenly loaded and .59 center loaded. That is...

80/20 Extrusions for roof rack for FWC?

I will be picking up my FWC Hawk shell next week. I was planning on adding Yakima or Thule tracks to the roof to accommodate our Kayaks and other stuff that will go on the roof, but the price from either of these manufacturers is crazy for such a simple extrusion. I have looked at 80/20 for...

    Fuel can storage

As much fun as prepping can be im more interested in the residual fuel left in the cans contaminating the fuel in future use. I think I'll swish around a bottle of Heat from one to the other and leave it at that.

    Fuel can storage

I'm wondering what everyone does with their empty fuel cans. I spend a week in the maze district of Canyonlands and brought along 20 gallons of extra fuel. Wound up needing about 12 but I had a warm fuzzy the whole time not worrying about running out. Back home and my brand new Wavian jerry...

Victron SmartSolar Charge Controller Bluetooth – MPPT 75/15 – 75 Volts, 15 Amps

Well after a day of testing I couldn't get it to fail again. Unfortunately it was cloudy most of the day and I wasn't able to get the heat to build up in the topper. It went as high as 102 and everything ran as it should. I like the controller otherwise and the interface and information on...

    Victron 75/15 Bluetooth Range

with mine in the back of my truck under a fiberglass topper I can generally connect inside my house, 30+ feet away, haven't tested it in open air but guessing another 20-30 feet.

Need another way to keep my house battery charged.

I feel your pain with those issues. I live in Wyoming, specifically in Coal Country. Solar is a dirty word in these parts, lol. I wouldn't worry too much about having one permanently mounted to my rig, but I would seriously think twice about having them on the roof of my house. I could see...

Need another way to keep my house battery charged.

It looks like he already has tracks on the topper. You can find some carriage bolts that will slide in those tracks, then build some risers. (bar stock square or rectangular aluminum tubing is easy to work with) Then fashion a crossbar and attach a rigid panel to the crossbars. If your not...

Victron SmartSolar Charge Controller Bluetooth – MPPT 75/15 – 75 Volts, 15 Amps

Thank you for the tips. I checked the controller settings and everything is as it should be. Victron Tech support said they have never heard of this issue in high heat but couldn't say for sure if that could be the culprit. Suggested I try it in a cooler environment and if the problem...

Victron SmartSolar Charge Controller Bluetooth – MPPT 75/15 – 75 Volts, 15 Amps

After disconnecting the controller from the panel and battery for a few minutes I got the same result. The amp rating for the load output is 15 amps. When the fridge first switches on it pulls 5.3 amps for about a minute, then settles down to around 3 amps and below. I don't think that should...

Victron SmartSolar Charge Controller Bluetooth – MPPT 75/15 – 75 Volts, 15 Amps

The load output was set for 'always on' with no voltage cutoff and the connection between the load output and the fridge plug is 10ga wire 6" long with a heavy duty plug. When the fridge was plugged into its normal receptacle it worked fine as usual. The load output was coming on and off in 1...

Victron SmartSolar Charge Controller Bluetooth – MPPT 75/15 – 75 Volts, 15 Amps

TO clarify, I don't plan on using the load output from the controller, I don't really see much use for it as I have power coming directly from the house battery. I was just using it to test how much power the fridge used in a day. The controller shoots all its data to my phone which seems...
