This is marshland in the centre of the island, due to its densely packed soilbase it's very slow to drain the water off, and this is from the recent rains... The pic of the GPS was taken on the ferry trip across the sound getting to the island, the pic of the "road" is in the middle of...

Heading out on the "road" to Portsmouth island village.. Miles and miles of uninhabited island beaches, the big girl did very admirably on the sometimes soft sand..

The "road" out to Portsmouth village..couple of spots 3-4 feet deep but mostly 2-3 feet.. Mostly firm bottom...No problem, no water ingress anywhere..this was all fresh water, but I probably would have done it even if it was not, as I said to someone a while ago, I built this truck for a good...

Moved onto installing the high breather kit..this relocates all of the Trans and diff breathers high to avoid sucking in water during water crossings.. The valve block itself is located between the cab and rear box at about 4ft high and then a common breather tube is about 7 ft high...if I suck...

While I had the exhaust manifold off I had it drilled for the EGT sensor and they say you are recommend to machine out the webbing between the exhaust ports to stop cracking of the manifold.. We just drilled a hole close to the edge of the webbing and them cut a slit to the hole...the hole stops...

Finished the dual under seat battery install... The 2 outer posts secure the tray to the floor and stay in place and the centre one comes out, this makes removal of the batteries easy.. Back of the perko switch gets a bit cramped..most of these are small current wires for the diesel heater...

Yes, I think it equates to about 7700 lbs.. It always a bit of a compromise to settle between something sturdy enough to last and something lightweight.. When it's all said and done I am going to weigh it twice...once fully laden (just the extra 25 gallons of diesel and 25 gallons of water can...

The main camping battery, the odyssey extreme.. Is only connected to the alternator system IF I energize the linking solenoid...usually it is kept completely topped up by the 160 watt solar panels.. The addition of the 3rd battery will be connected to a manual 4 position perko switch...I.e...
