The easiest way to do this is to buy a crew cab 2wd model (available in the us)and install the crew cab onto the 4x4 chassis. It is fairly straightforward as I understand. There are serious safety concerns about putting passengers into a box in the back. It may not be legal and I certainly...
Sorry for the delayed response, just returned from a month long hike. I am running the BFG AT KO2 in a 37/12.5/17 and am very pleased with them. Quiet on the freeway and "nearly" unstoppable in all conditions off road when aired down.

Good read. Thank you. Also his article on the LifePO4 batteries is interesting. Heat and individual cell bms systems are crucial! Victron Multiplus 2000 looks like the way to go for my needs.

I am early in the research portion of all of this but my thoughts are absolutely the same as yours! Light weight and simplicity win out. I have been talking with the powerfilm guys about glue on panels. My camper is weak on insulation though so excessive heat transfer may nix this whole idea....
I have 8 3.2 v 100ah cells LifePO4. Still researching best setup. Leaning towards 200ah 12v. These will be the coach batteries and I am mounting them inside the cabin to keep them warm and cozy. My understanding is that they are stable to 20 degrees f. I haven't read anything about them...
I have already been unscrewing the cores with a valve stem tool. I was always concerned that it would blow out of my hand into the dirt and I would end up full flat before I could dig up another one. The ARB gauge keeps the stem aligned for screwing back in which greatly reduces the likelihood...
Finally Recovered!
Well, I finally had a long enough break after the big push to get it ready for the expo. (Was a bit burned out on the truck.) So I decided to get back at it. I have a Huge list of things to attend to but the first priority was getting the truck to ride better.
I was...
Owen,
Thank you for the super informative post! I will be messing with custom senders on my new tank setup and having the specific OHM ratings without having to disassemble my current setup is extremely useful!
Take care,
Allan
Awesome Report! So interesting that the two expo's were so extreme climatically. Persevering in those conditions is what overloading is all about. Congratulations on your successful build!

Nope, No winch
Jaci,
I don't have a winch. I am with you on the weight thing. Trying to keep it as light as I can. I was at 20 psi when I got stuck. That is about as low as I have gone. The problem is the huge pumpkin on the rear axle. I was actually impressed with how much dirt it...
I am going to build my own Batwing style awning which will go around the back corner of the truck but be mounted across the back when closed so it is not exposed to branches while driving...
