My Pelican and Hardigg cases were ordered with the pluck it type foam. I just traced around the object using a felt tip market and plucked away.
Presumably you have solid foam/non-pluck it pre-scored foam? Aside from making a die and even that won't work if you don't want to cut all the way...
Your best bet given your budget is to find a used small laptop and run Delorme. A tablet PC with even a buggy touchscreen (Microsoft just hasn't really figured the touch screen thing out...among other things ;)) is going to take 5-8X that assuming it has a real OS and a daylight viewable...
We had a Kelty Carport Deluxe and used it quite extensively up until the time we moved our AT Horizon downstream so to speak. No complaints at all including any about durability.
This is my first attempt at making andouille. I had some left over shoulder meat from an Iberico hog we bought...combined with some fine venison steaks. I tasted a bulk patty and its damn tasty if I do say so myself :coffeedrink: Links are getting some pecan smoke as we speak :)
But this...
And somehow this is able to be uploaded to an iPad? I assume Pathaway somehow incorporates all the data into a bundle that iPad will accept?
FYI: My focus is finding a suitable app that runs from GPS. No cell/wifi where we go...
Thanks! Another question (OK...several :wings:): From the Pathaway app on iTunes they make it sound as if they don't include the actual topo map overlay(s). Is this correct? And if it is what topo maps are you using that can be uploaded to the iPad? If Pathaway does include base topo maps...
So how is Pathway for pre-trip planning: Creating and saving a highlighted route/trip? Is it easy to drop in notes along the route/waypoints while naving? I have to check it out as I've lately resigned myself to my iPad not suiting my needs as it relates to a true overland nav capable system...
I've been wanting to pick one of these up too. I've used the exact upper model (the "H" model) at one of our local fab shops and it works great. I'd say get the H unless you need the smaller footprint of the "A". If you're like me you're going to want to get a press brake kit for it and the...
Darin: You've given me an idea with what to do with some nice venison meat a buddy gave me. Although I don't have boar I think I'll try it mixed with a little pork shoulder and see what happens!
Thanks for the inspiration!
It would be nice to have a couple different trailers depending on the type of event. As above they all have some type of limitation whether it be comfort at the simple end (relative though ;)) or heavy and high priced with more limited travel destinations at the other...
I'll tell ya though...
I make my Italian Sausage with fresh smoked habanero's instead of the traditional red pepper flakes and its killer. Pork fat mixed in with the venison and wild boar would be a good thing ;)
Choices are good. I've been using USGS topo, USFS, BLM, et al paper maps since my first backpack trip in 1974. I think I know how to use a map thank you very much.
But damn it I prefer track up for in rig nav'ing from my GPS...no apologies needed or implied.
Choices ARE good...then we...
I originally planned to machine several and then sell them. But to be honest I assumed there just weren't very many if any folks that were using the GigaPower LI Stove that would want bulk propane adaptability.
At full bore 34,000btu it doesn't take too long to burn through a ~450g canister...
Nevada is full of radioactive matter. Its a dry desolate desert devoid of anything but all things boring (except this year...its full of snow and mud). Take it off your explore radar. Go to Arizona...that's the place you want to explore!
Seriously: Nice photos and write up Dave!
Sure looks good Darin! Like you we're multi-generation sausage makers...just Italian. Isn't it funny...OK not really :)...with all the sausage choices out there you still cant get one like home-made!
I know what you mean about the KA. Its slow and best suited for a few pounds max. I did...
