This morning I put my Garvin Wilderness rear bumper on. Due to the weight of the bumper, I'm leaving the jerry can holder and hi-lift off, to relieve some stress on the stock suspension until I install OME. Here are some pictures from the install:

All I want for Christmas is....

Yeah, a job would be fantastic. But seeing as how this thread should be fun, I am hoping for a SPoT messenger as well. I do a lot of solo trips, so my girlfriend supports the idea, too. Wil & Wen, you should be getting a call from a beautiful young lady soon. After Christmas, I'm buying...

I am in limbo about my wheel/tire situation. I love the style of the stock 16" wheels I have now, but I don't like my tire options once the 3" suspension is put in place. The 245/75R16 is the right logical size, but load range E is a major turn-off considering the weight of the Cherokee. I...

Interesting. Do you know what caused the trouble? Was it a part malfunction, lack of maintenance, install mishap?

    Lightforce or IPF?

Slight highjack here, my apologies. For my own personal curiosity, what is the reason behind the different color covers for the Lightforce lights? How are these beneficial?

    The shortcut home: Escalante

I took a few days for myself after I passed my NREMT exam, as a celebration and a chance to finally relax and take my time to do whatever the hell I want. I went up to Colorado to visit a friend living in Copper Mountain, shared a 6 pack of Fat Tire and had a good night's sleep, then hit the...

    Info on wilderness rear bumper.

My endcaps fit over the bumper, just like the OEM. I don't know why yours sticks out... ? If you don't cut the endcaps, they will slide right back to where they were with the stock bumper.

    Info on wilderness rear bumper.

I have the Garvin Wilderness bumper for my XJ and love it. It is a VERY stout piece of equipment, and I would buy another in a heartbeat. I like the vertical positioning of the hi-lift jack, the class II hitch, and two solid recovery points. The hinge is very heavy-duty, with a grease zirk...

    TCs: 242 vs. 231

Very good information guys, thanks. I do like the ability to switch to full-time, especially since I'm going to Utah in a few weeks. I want to be able to apply it if I hit snow/ice.

    TCs: 242 vs. 231

What makes the latter more desirable? I had people asking for the transfercase out of my old Cherokee, a 231, and I've been told it's a bummer that I have the 242 in my new one. Why does it matter? Is the ratio different?
