Absolutely 110% true! When searching for my platform, i drove the F550 and 5500 in the same day. Ram was CONSIDERABLY quieter inside, and the seats were MUCH better quality, and more comfortable. To answer OP original question, i think its somewhat region specific. I go to Canada/Alaska...
