    Ford Fullsize Thread !!!!

Nice truck. You likely have an AOD trans and not a C6. C6 were heavy duty 3 speeds (like a Chevy Turbo 400). AOD's were Ford's 4 speed overdrive transmissions.

    460 good expo motor?

Generally they are solid engines but are gas hogs. That's really the biggest issue since it limits range unless you have a really big or multiple tanks.

Frustrations of a 2nd Gen Ram Interior

Great pics. Yeah, I did buy that same Geno's cup holder and did adjust my catch so it will latch. It has been working great, given the options out there. Like you, I found you can put two gauges in that space but not really three due to the screw mounts to hold it in place. This is what I...

    Warn Industries Supports Expedition Portal

I have been keeping an eye out for one but they are rare to find. Figured if I found a full size one I could fab mounts but honestly, I could likely build a replica just as easy as it would be to find one.

Frustrations of a 2nd Gen Ram Interior

Yeah, someone had posted the BD monitor above. I already have almost $400 in custom made gauges sitting in the box for the last year. Had I known about the BD setup prior that would be what I would have gone with but it's after the fact and to sell off these gauges, I would lose a fair amount...

Frustrations of a 2nd Gen Ram Interior

I do actually have the 3 gauge A pilar piece but just cannot bring myself to use it. I test fitted it and hated it. As for the overhead cubby, my overhead unit has the compass and outside temp computer. If that wasn't there, I would put switches there but I really like having those two items...

    Warn Industries Supports Expedition Portal

I seriously wish Warn still made the Classic bumper and made it for '94-'01 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 (not sure if the 1500 is the same). I want a winch bumper that doesn't look like a zombie killing style or weigh 200+ lbs. without the winch. Something that somewhat keeps the stock lines but adds a...

Frustrations of a 2nd Gen Ram Interior

Well.... almost a year later and many of my problems are still there. I did go with a Geno's cup holder and it works well. I did put the CB mic clip onto the front of the factory cup holder face. As for mounting the gauges... I worked on that idea this weekend. I built an aluminum plate that...

slow build- 97 Ram CTD family truck/expo rig

I 100% agree with you about the craptastic cup holders and lack of any place to mount about anything (like gauges). I have owned 50+ vehicles and this by far has been the most frustrating vehicle to try to modify/add stuff to. Have fun in Baja! Post up more pics/projects when you get a chance. :)

4 door ford 7.3IDI or 2 door dodge 12v cummins?

Though I love the Cummins in my Dodge, I did own a 1 ton Ford van with a 6.9 IDI that had a ATS turbo system (non IC). It freakin' got up and moved. Never had any issues with it but did have to watch the pyro when pulling long grades, just to keep the temps in check. It was a fun van. As...

    '97 Dodge Ram 2500, 4x4 Cummins Powered

Actually bought them on Amazon as my local offroad store was going to have to order that size. Got them in 2 days versus the 5 the store was going to take. It's all about the flex baby!!! LOL It is interesting to see how much the frame twists when you look at the body and bed lines.

New here, 97 CTD with a 69 8' OpenRoads camper

Yep, 3.54's. I had a great set of H2's on my M1010 and an almost new set of 315/75-17 ProComp tires. As it was, they were only D rated so staying with the Eagle 16x8 wheels, I put 285/75-16 E rated BFG A/T's which at almost 8600 lbs. I am happy I did. Very stable driving with the stiffer...

Wanted: Factory Tow hooks setup for 97 Dakota

Because of the way the frame, bumper cover and such, Dodge made a special bar/bracket that tied the frame rails together with mounts for tow hooks. You cannot just bolt some universal tow hooks to the front of a Dakota. As it was, this Dodge kit was only available for '97-'99 models as 2000...

Thanks a bunch for the pics! Looks great and intergrated into the stock bumper nicely. I agree, some dimpled holes would help airflow. Really makes me wish I would have swapped the H2 wheels off my M1010 onto the Dodge before I sold it. Oh well.

    Look what followed me home

Congrats!!!! Welcome to the FWC club. Our's is a 2004 model (Grandby) and looks very similar inside. This was back then they put the fridge to the front of the camper, which I don't actually mind. Here are a couple pics I took of beefing up the original tie downs. Aluminum plate, Gr8 bolts...

    '97 Dodge Ram 2500, 4x4 Cummins Powered

Finally, I got a project I had been putting off for over a year now, done. Since having the springs installed in the rear, I lost the use of the factory rear bump stops as they were designed to hit an "arm" that stuck out from the factory lift blocks. Crappy design if you ask me. I had...
