Nice job on the seat mounts! I especially like that you retained the stock seat belts. I've got a similar setup with some Flexsteel captain's chairs I picked up off craigslist from a conversion van. I'm halfassed using the seatbelts that came with them. It works fine on the driver side, but...
I could not believe how hard it was to disassemble that POS. So many different fastener sizes, and so many with uncaptured nuts on the inside, which were inaccessible. I just kept removing fasteners and still couldn't get it apart. You would think it would be made so you could remove the skin...
Van developed a stutter on the drive home. It was the worst at low rpm in high gear. Got a #5 misfire code. I figured it was a bad coil since these modular motors have a reputation for eating coils. Threw the new one in and went for a drive, no change. Ok lets change the spark plug. No change...
Wow that lift is heavy! Almost 400 pounds I'd say. I had to disassemble it into chunks just so I could move it. Nobody buys these things once they're out of the van, especially not one like mine. This was a pretty invasive install. Although if I were to have one, I'd want one like this that is...
Depends on where you will be camping. If it's too hot to sleep, a generator is a bargain. I'd get this one if I were to buy one. http://www.harborfreight.com/2500-peak2200-running-watts-47-hp-125cc-portable-inverter-generator-61171.html
Those seats look awesome and I'm jealous of the price you paid. I paid $150 for two Flexsteel chairs out of a Ford conversion van. The bolt pattern didn't match my Ford and I had to drill some new holes in the floor anyway :(
It came with decent highway tires with about 40% tread remaining. I got stuck the first time I parked at a friend's house in his unpaved overflow parking area covered in packed snow. Needs meaty treads. Should I go with mud tires? I hate getting stuck. 4WD conversion costs way too much and...
I sold my 2003 Toyota Tundra in order to get a van that I could keep dirtbikes and riding gear secure and dry inside at all times. Outside of the fire season, my hours at work are very flexible. Sometimes I'm sitting at my desk and I get tired of browsing GRM. I wanted to be be able to say...
More photos from our Oregon Coast Valentine's day trip.
Used the Aliner as a kitchen and the van as a dining room. I flipped the mounts for the bench seat 180* so it was facing backwards. Romantic V-day dinner
I susequently picked up these Flexsteel recliners on spinning bases...
New tow rig for the Aliner, a Ford Motovan.
I put a front receiver hitch on so I could keep the back end of the van open and attach the trailer to a hitch for stability. This is a shot of our pit setup at the 6 hour Eddieville endurance race.
Moto pit setup. Aliner attached to the front receiver hitch for stability and leaving the back end open to load/unload and lounge with my 2nd row captain's chairs spun around.
Perhaps I didn't ask the proper question...I should have asked will these bolt in to my van?
I took my SUV out today to go grab them
The mounting plate has a different bolt pattern so I'll have to drill new holes in the floor. I was able to get two bolts in each seat to get an idea on...
