    New Defender Rage/Hate Thread

Manual hubs? When that might save what? One mile per gallon with the added complication of a fragile hub that you have to get out of the vehicle and engage before you get into trouble? How cute. Land Rover started building all wheel drive cars with the introduction of the first Range Rover in...

We've towed a wide variety of stuff with my LR3 and D5 from utility trailers and campers to a 26' enclosed car transporter. I had a Prodigy brake controller which plugged into the LR3 and worked great. I'd like to be able to tow my 88" Series IIA on an open trailer behind the new 110 to Land...

I'd have to say that the 450 ft-lbs of torque that my TDV6 Discovery 5 certainly isn't meaningless. It towed a 26' car hauler with a Porsche 356 Carrera in it quite nicely. And it towed this 17 foot long, 2700 lb travel trailer back up from Orlando, Florida at 65-70 mph easily while getting 23 mpg.

And that's why I have a 4 cylinder gas powered 110 on order. I drove a 2020 Velar with the four cylinder gas engine and it seemed pretty good on a short test ride. I was really hoping for a six cylinder diesel version but according to my source at JLRNA it's not gonna happen here. I think the...

My first enclosed travel trailer was this mid - 1970's Boler that I bought in 2007. They are actually a good base for updating with modern LED's and a modern fridge/freezer. I was driven to going this route after two consecutive years of really rainy weekends at the Mid Atlantic Rover Rally...

Eribas are built over a steel tube frame wrapped in an aluminum skin with a fiberglass roof. I might eventually do something like this with it - drop it onto a stouter frame with bigger wheels.

I picked up my latest Eriba Puck earlier this month - imported it from England - and I'm almost done rewiring it from the 240V system to a 120V system. This one is a 1995 model - I had a 1989 Puck and a 1988 Triton before this one. I've owned seven different travel trailers and I really like...

    LR3 dog stuff

I've got a 4Knines rear seat cover in my Discovery and they make a fabulous product - very high quality. I bought another one when they made some improvements to their original design and it is even better. My Standard Poodle loves it. They also make a load space cover...

Thanks - the six cylinder has been getting a lot of press but the four cylinder has been largely ignored. I drove a four cylinder 2020 Velar to get an idea of how the engine performed and decided to gamble on it for my new Defender. I was really hoping for a six cylinder diesel but I'm...

I don't think there were any on that trip, it seems from reading a few articles that it was a mix of the 3.0 six and 240 hp four cylinder diesel engines in the Namibia trucks. I am particularly interested in driving impressions of the 2.0 gas engine since I have one on order, I'm kind of...

    New Defender News

I've spent the evening reading about ten different reports from journalists on the African test drive - they all sound pretty encouraging with the exception of some minor pre-production glitches that were still being fine tuned on the prototype vehicles used for this trip. Are there things that...

That's what I understand is the off road tire option - DuraTracs but don't know what size on the 18" alloys.

    Suspension question, diesel rover

Bilsteins break - I've broken a couple of rear ones. I'd highly recommend Koni Heavy Duty. That's what will be going on my D90 eventually.

    Suspension question, diesel rover

I put a set of factory heavy duty springs on my D90 to compensate for the ARB bumper, winch, rock sliders, roof rack and roof tent. As suggested above check the factory optional springs first.

    Patriot Campers

I missed an X1 that was for sale in Lawrenceville for around $29k about two months ago. It had been traded in at an RV dealer and they had no idea what it was. It had a lot of options and somebody beat me to it by a couple of days - I called as soon as I saw the ad. If I'd seen the ad sooner I...

    Defender first impressions

I spent some quality time looking at the sliders you guys built for the D5 Trek trucks at Land Rover North Point and they are very impressive. It will probably be the first accessory I add to my new 110 when it gets here.
