RTT on Chevy 1500 5ft bed

Nice Fab work Stryder! As for the Frontrunner rack, they are nice and sexy, but the cost of having something that nice just so you can hide it all under a RTT seems wasteful to me. It's still probably cheaper to fabricate your own for this. When i have sufficient funds for a RTT it'll be what i do.

Is it worth the hassel for an extra inch???

My truck is a 2014, i don't believe it comes with torsion keys, that stopped on the 2008's and newer models. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Truck Bed Pics Loaded Out

Hello everyone. Just looking around for inspiration and ideas of how to organize my gear, and secure it on the bed of my truck. Since I'll usually just pack for two people for two or three days i don't see having to pack a whole lot, but I do have to take into account that by truck bed is open...

RTT on Chevy 1500 5ft bed

Same boat as you are in right now. The only good option i found was to find someone in town to fabricate a simple rack that would mount on top of the truck bed using the stale holes. I could not find anything that was made for a Chevy capable of holding the weight of a rtt and the people on it...

Is it worth the hassel for an extra inch???

Hello everyone, coming back to this thread again. Does anyone know if adding a two inch level kit, like the rough country will be enough to allow for a 33" tire??? I'm looking at this mainly due to budget constraints. Ideally i would go with a new suspension setup; i was thinking King shocks all...

    Building a camping/bugout/SHTF setup?

The thing about a SHTF scenario that most overlanders overlook, at least from what i've read, is that their purpose built, go anywhere vehicles will be useless within say 400miles, give or take, based on the fact that no one is left to supply the gas stations. Lets face it, if everything comes...

    Truck bed setups???

Hello everyone, total noob when it comes to camping and overlanding, and trying to learn as much as possible. So far I have the vehicle that i want to use for overlanding, a 2014 Silverado 4x4 and most of the essential gear for a weekend of camping/exploring. My question for now is, how do u...

    2013 Silverado Adventure Build

Gotcha, so you didn't use a suspension lift, just went with the King OEM's ??? How do the suspension angles look? I was all set to go with a RC 2.5" level kit but got discouraged when I saw how much the angle changed, not sure if that's good for the components.

    Running a Stock Rig ???

It does seem crazy, and even more so when in reality all you gain in going from a 31" tire to a 33" tire is about an inch extra clearance. In my case not even that, more like 3/4" under the diferentials. Almost seems silly to think that I could ever be in a situation where i would need that...

    Running a Stock Rig ???

Thanks for all the replies. This whole thing started for me because I've been looking at getting some bigger tires for my truck, going from a 265/65R18 to a 275/70R18. The thinking being that I might need the bigger tires; but this just became crazy. The amount of money I would have to put into...

    Running a Stock Rig ???

Hello Everyone thanks for stopping by. I am still pretty new to the world of over landing and going off the paved roadways and I was wondering how many people out there are still going out and exploring in your stock vehicles??? I know this site's focus is on customizing our vehicles for...

    15' Silverado build

Hey still loving your build thread, it looks like its coming along just right!!! I have a question concerning your RC leveling kit. I am considering this route just so I can fit a larger tire on my truck. I was all set to go with it until I started looking around the chevy forums and coming to...

Is it worth the hassel for an extra inch???

Hey SloPoke, So to clarify, when I say 3/4" clearance I am referring to clearance under the differentials. And I come up with that number by calculating the actual tire dimensions. So on my stock setup I have 265/65R18, 265mm for the cross section with an aspect ratio of 65%, which gives you a...
