SOLD: Front Runner Slimline 2 Land Rover LR3 LR4 Roof Rack $750

Nobody wants a rack? I found some soft-shell quick release tent mounts I'll throw in with the rack if someone buys it. It could theoretically be shipped too since it can be disassembled.

    Grenadier Pricing Announced

It's reflective of economies of scale and platform sharing across multiple models delivered by a company with the infrastructure developed over 7 decades of manufacturing and delivering automobiles. That's the reason why nearly any "comparable" vehicle is cheaper than the one off Grenadier.

Is this why JLR are dropping Land Rover?

Perhaps it's because the brand "Land Rover" is broadly associated with "reliability" and "quality." Oh wait. It's the complete opposite, which is why the LR3 and LR4 were labeled the LR3 and LR4 in the USA after the Discovery II because the branding associated with "Discovery" was synonymous...

    Grenadier Pricing Announced

@ChasingOurTrunks, sorry to hear about the house. I never like to hear about that kind of misfortunate to anyone, but you seem to be taking it as well as anyone. I'll cheers you a pint and try to follow your lead when faced with adversity. I also generally agree with your Defender and Jeep...

Post pictures of your Land Rover.

And if you pass on it, post it up so the rest of us can take a look at it. I've been thinking a lot about a 300 TDI D1 or TD5 D2 and then I remember I want to stay married, but I'd love to know who's importing them and how much they're asking in case I do get the opportunity to pick one up in...

SOLD: Front Runner Slimline 2 Land Rover LR3 LR4 Roof Rack $750

Still have the rack and the jerry can holder. Right now the Eezi-Awn swift is mounted no problem to the rack, but if someone wanted the rack, I'd still sell it and go with load bars to save a bit of weight off the roof. Table is sold.

I think if you have it any gear other than neutral the BMW will shift into park if you open the door. My wife's 2013 Mercedes would as well. That's a safety feature, and while not great for off road, probably will actually save someone's life. Probably a kid's or innocent bystander, so in my...

From what I've seen on other vehicles with things like the "bonnet" or hood closure sensors, you have to jumper the sensor by pulling it out and sticking a wire in both ports to complete the circuit and then you can be on your way again. Honestly I don't think it's that big of a deal and will...

This is the reality of selling a vehicle in today's market. People want the Grenadier to be a 300 TDI Land Rover Defender 110 or a Land Cruiser 70 series or whatever vehicle that is not legal to sell in any of the world's largest auto markets: China, EU, US, Japan, etc. That's just not going...

DPF is the diesel particulate filter and part of the exhaust system. It is not the "AdBlue" tank for urea to inject for SCR (selective catalytic reduction for NOx). On the BMW diesel it is tucked up as close to the exhaust manifold and turbos as possible to get as much passive heat in the DPF...

They did say it was the spiritual successor to the Land Rover Defender after all. It's good to see that they're keeping true to their initial intent. In all seriousness, the BMW shifter was selected because of convenience and ease of using the BMW drivetrain. They looked at making their own...

And the 200 Series gets a 5 star crash test rating 8+ airbags or something like that. The 300 GD has 0 airbags and no ABS. Granted, neither did my first car. However, when I once suggested something like a 300 GD the response was something to the effect of "the kids aren't riding in it, and...

Not much other than a relatively small fuel tank and thirsty V8 requiring premium gasoline which describes my LR4 as well. The grill certainly doesn't win it any points either. The current GX is NA spec does have fuel system and emissions differences compared to ROW just like the LR4 as well...

Ah yes, and the full bling G-class variant is in the works too according to the same article. Here come the Kardashians! Can't wait to start dodging them in Park City. I drove my wife's former diesel ML350 to places where plenty of transfer case equipped 4x4s parked or turned around, so I...

Ah yes the 300GD, my ideal vehicle but wife wouldn't go for it. Her idea of safety features and comfort leans more towards the LC200 end of the spectrum. Thanks. Occasionally, I do come up with a good idea from time to time for being a Land Rover driver. Interesting perspective on Porsche...

That's a lot of hope. I believe according to MT https://www.motortrend.com/reviews/2024-ineos-grenadier-first-drive-review/ it will start at over $70,000 USD and prices have only been heading in one direction lately, and that's up. I don't think one of these will get out the door in the US for...

@ChasingOurTrunks, Given that the axles are made by a tractor manufacturer specifically for the IG, I doubt there will be many common off the shelf components. TMaybe there will be some commonality for wheel bearings or some typical high wear items, but axle shafts, ring and pinions, etc...

As I've said before, BMW engines are known to: eat main bearings, have faulty valve guides, VANOS issues out the wazoo while locating the timing chain on the back of the engine where it cannot be accessed, exploding plastic cooling system parts which ruin engines and will leave you stranded...
