    A Photographer Specific Overlander...

Sounds like you are having fun with the upgrades! Just so you know, you are likely fine with a stock JKUR for most of the wheeling you are describing...so the items you list are wants, not needs. But that's no fun, and if budget is not a concern, have at it! To answer your questions...

    AEV Brute: The Ultimate Overlander?

But what's the fun in that? ;) The hardtop is pretty dang heavy, and not easy on the hands to lift (thanks to the sharp edges on the bottom), but I couldn't give it up in the wet/cold/snowy months. In fact, I just put mine on this weekend. :( Now, the back seat? That was gone the day I drove...

    Ursa Minor Pop-Top Jeep JK

    I just wish I had the skills of jscherb, then I'd build/modify my own 2-dr J30. :26_7_2:

    AEV Brute: The Ultimate Overlander?

My mind went that way with the 2-dr Wrangler pickup I posted above. Should be easy since it is the same length as the JKU.

    AEV Brute: The Ultimate Overlander?

This is available new at a local dealership. It is a 2012 model that has been sitting since it hit the floor...originally almost $80k, now priced just shy of $60k (Canadian dollars). I love it, but I'm not sure I could justify (or quite honestly, afford) it. Especially since I'm still paying for...

    Ursa Minor Pop-Top Jeep JK

Bumping an old comment, and hoping Ursa Minor is still around. :wavey: I realize that the roof is shorter, but it is still 72"...what about a short (say 12") slide at the front or back? With heavy duty slides available, it seems like it could be an option. The top shell could be fixed, and the...

    2013 Rubicon / Moab / Rubicon X...Hybrid

Very nice! I've been looking at the back of my 2-dr with the backseats removed, thinking of doing something similar. All the manufactured ones are so pricey for what they are. Going to carpet or rubber mat the top, or leave it as is?

Toyo 35x12.5x17 Open Country MT's vs Nitto 285x75x17 Trail Grappler Pictures

Weird...in both pics (original and reversed mounted), the tire on the Jeep looks smaller. Optical illusion, or just because loaded vs. unloaded?

TeraFlex Tech: Jeep Coils Spring Hype

Great video; thanks for posting. Wish I'd come out when Dennis was up here in June wheeling Eagle with the BCJC; that rig is a beast!

    hood flutter

Is this something that develops over time? I don't have any flutter on my 4 month old '14 JKR...

more evidence that the Wrangler may be in for a change

Yeah, other than the hands free answering/talking/ending call, I've given up on my uConnect. I even dislike the GUI of the music player (why can't I just delete a song directly from the tracklist?). And my wife and I share the Jeep...she doesn't like my music, and I can barely tolerate her...

Barn Door for JK factory hardtops

What a cool idea to incorporate the table and mounts with the barn door attachment! And thanks for the ideas for the DIYers here...sometimes it is more rewarding to build something rather than just buy and bolt.

Barn Door for JK factory hardtops

This looks fantastic! Great work guys. Another idea for the lift glass bracket recesses: what about making some sort of bolt on bracket to hold a hi-lift horizontally above the barn door? Or a narrow awning? :)

I'm impressed that you straightened the tire cover. ;)

Barn Door for JK factory hardtops

This project is so awesome! I'd be all over it if I'd bought a JKU...kinda wishing I had since I seem to be leaning more towards using my JK as a camping/overland type rig rather than a rock-crawler. Next one. ;) Your LJ is really cool, and that safari top is the cat's meow! Top notch work. I'd...
