the advantage of the diesel is the reliability. fuel economy is secondary even tho is dabble of the stock rover. but i agree the cost of doing it very high. . i think the cost will be down if that will be your second or 3rd conversion. of the same job.

no mechanical pump . put made in USA electric pump and check valve and done . . ( when mechanical pumps fail, it lets diesel to go inside the engine oil and your motor is done. or if u run out of fuel. it will kill your starter before it starts.) Eric

clutch pedal is from camaro . but it would of been much easy to find land rover unit and just bolt it on.

i am going to use the Mercedes transmission as well. and make a short drive shaft that will make it work with lt230 4 wheel drive, i may even try to use the same drive shafts and not change those .

I can get that under 300 bucks all day long. The hard part will be finding classic rover to do the job. I found d1 for 650 bucks. If I won't find classic I will do it on d1. it already has lt230

i was looking at my friends Mercedes diesel today. and its amazing on how much similar design is there between 6.2 and mbz. injectors ar 95 % the same, it can be even interchanged , made by BOSH both of them. injection pumps are lubricated by fuel on both of them . they need 3/4 psi fuel...

well total cost depends on your mechanical skills , parts are very cheap. lets say u got the motor and trans for 1300, used. clutch kit is 450, that includes the flywheels and master cinder and slave cylinder . then u have to get a strong large radiator. about 400 then u need front springs...

if its a military 6.2, it has to be J CODE. intake manifold and cylinder heads are different. nv 4500 is very good transmission , unbreakable. ( good luck braking it lol) and its bolt on with 6.2. if u run 32 inch tires with 5 gear of nv 4500 u will be at 1700 rpm at 60 mph. you dont have to...
