My truck was a bare bones tradesman. I bought this and figured out two ways to make them work.
I cant change them between them being constant on or switched off the ignition through the EVIC but 1 & 2 work off the ignition and the others are always able to turn on.
We finally had our maiden voyage with the camper and man this thing is awesome. Its so light for the diesel, has a low CG, and with the suspension its easy to forget that it is back there.
My wife and I decided to keep the first trip somewhat local in case there were any issues. We camped at...
Great start of a thread! Also, thank you for keeping our communities safe. I hope you get to enjoy retirement to the fullest, you have definitely earned it.
Now onto truck stuff...I can only speak on items 1 and 3.
Personally, I would stay away from the AEV bumper. It is the best looking...
Thank you for taking the time to write that up! It definitely looks like an awesome unit and it sounds like it integrates with the oem system pretty well.
Does it have Car Play or screen mirroring? My dream is to find a unit I can mirror the Avenza Maps app onto that also ties into all the...
Can you give us a little detail on the Alpine Unit? I've seen it pop up online here and there and advertised in the dealerships but haven't read any real review of it.
I have an R50 too that I've been wrenchin on in between my k10 and Ram. Once you get the tranny mechanically sound, here are some things I picked up.
From what I have learned:
Inspect and replace the steering rack bushings with OEM when they fail. The drivers side rubber is directly under the...
They are a smoother ride cruising down the freeway, I dont feel like the back of the truck is floating, and no need to worry about lines starting to leak. Also, I feel a lot more confident heading into corners without the bags trying to equalize pressure.
They are super easy to install and take...
Haven't had time to work too much on the Ram. Most of my days after work are spent finishing up a 1972 k10 Cheyenne and the weekends are spent on the house trying to get the yards done before the heat hits.
I have been working on the camper here and there in preparation for 3 upcoming trips...
I am working on retrofitting the factory aux switches into the truck and picked up my first accessory to run off of them.
I am planning on ditching the hitch carrier and KC Cyclone and use this as a dust light. Im going to use a rivet nut in the bed by the back window and bolt it directly to...
Exacty! There is a gap in the drop bracket to get a grease gun onto the zerk fitting for the spherical joint on the Carli Arms. If you are not on 100% flat ground, sometimes the angle is off just enough to not grease one side.
The arms feel smoother through the suspension travel than the...
They are straight forward. Make sure you have a big enough torque wrench and get them to spec. Don't forget to grease them when you're done
I did the limit straps, It wont make a difference if you put them on or not if you don't plan on jumping the truck.
Its hard to say what they would have billed, I got an incredible "hook up" price since I was their test dummy for the 14+ platform. I would imagine 5-10 hours depending on how detailed you would want it to be.
If you take your time and let things cool between passes the pumpkin shouldn't heat...
Thank you! Here are some more pictures of the truss, sorry in advance about the crappy cell phone pictures. I had a local shop glue it on. I don't trust my cheap welder to get enough penetration on something like that. Thuren really put a lot of support around the CAD which is awesome. I also...
I am not sure if its me over analyzing it or not but I feel like the truss tightened up the steering a bit more? Either way I am happy to have the reinforcement up front and feel a lot more comfortable taking the big girl off pavement.
The Thuren trackbar went on with ease. It was really easy...
