    LR3 search

LR4 has the AJ133 / 5.0L Direct-Injection, continuously variable intake and exhaust camshaft timing at a conservative 375HP/375lbft I have a 2011 LR4 LUX HD with ~52K miles. Bev liked the color, I wanted a HD rear axle. LUX was part of the purchase. I do use it off road, travel, etc. Pull a...

1993 RRC Front Axle is clicking when turning

Depends on if yours is 10 or 24 spline? 93 is a cross over year. D1's are 24. Maybe VIN # split can determine which one you have without tear down?

    A little overwhelming...

Lots of great memories. Kids grew up camping, around a fire. Not in front of a TV. Looking back, all on the cheap. As for RTT's, not in Colorado/West! You DO NOT want to move your CG higher.

    A little overwhelming...

Reading post on Expedition Portal I sometimes wonder how Bev and I camped out of a Scout with a 6 month old and 3 year old............ And that was wheelin down Colorado gulches to campsites with friends, tent in back and a Coleman stove/cooler. Budget must have been $200 in gear for the summer...

CV joint broken? No Worn and not operating smoothly? Probably. Easy maintenance item.

    A little overwhelming...

First, welcome! Enjoy camping and actually do it vs. think about it. Now, ignore all the upgrades recommendations until next year, at the earliest. Considering that this is a 06 LR3 I'm thinking there is maintenance to be brought up to date to ensure vehicle reliability. Take out the owners...

Is the V6 the best choice in 2015 RR?

Supercharged V6 is probably fine for flatlanders. At altitude the V8 is the best choice. V6 gets 1 mpg more at sea level?

Am I crazy for wanting to buy a LR?

The key item with Land Rovers, as with most vehicles, is maintenance. Stay up on maintenance and they are reliable. Ignore maintenance and it will bite you. As with all pre-owned vehicle purchases your initial new owner experience will be driven by the previous owner's due-diligence. As such...

    Another LR3 tire question

Not trying to overthink rim selection but LR already designed the OE rims for a LR3/4. Stay with those and you should be good. Non-OE would require research and phone calls. Personally I think the LR 10-spoke 18" look good on the LR4.

    Another LR3 tire question

I initially considered the Cooper A/T3's, designed by the acquired Mickey Thompson team. After consideration of LR4 weight, payload, towing and off-road requirements I made 18" rims and E-rated tires the minimum.

    RR v. LR differences?

Sorry, no pics. Cut the forward section out and left the 2 side sections in tack, remounting them. Provided more room for diameter of tire. Even then the LR4 with a 31.5" diameter spare and the new style LR040248G which extends too far forward and into the tire.

Motorola announces new Moto X, Moto G phones

Cell phone manufactures are becoming boring. At least Androids. Same OS, majority using 5 apps. Same for iOS. Pretty soon it will be consolidation, virtualization and appliance time. Android, iOS and ? On same phone.

    RR v. LR differences?

Run General Grabber LT285/60-18's that are 31.5". RR v. LR differences?

Land Rover seriously needs to rethink rim offerings. While 19/20" rims may sell to the boulevard cruisers and rappers, they are inappropriate for off-road where boulders/rocks are present. I can guarantee that you will damage a rim. My LR4 came with 20". They had rash even from urban driving...

    RR v. LR differences?

I suspect the primary difference is initial RR cost, which is much higher. That places the RR into a class of owners who rarely take a vehicle off road. That then reduces the after-market accessories. In general, and historically, new Land Rover features/capabilities are introduced with the...

    Lr4 roof rack
