It looks good and I agree the price is fair if the quality is there. Was mostly curious if there were other similar but slightly different solutions. Personally I don't enjoy dealing with a loose air line...I also have a tendency to grab it for use in the garage or something and then forget to...
It's been a long time since this was an active thread...had to go look what was even being discussed.
I was referring to ovrlnd camper vs the AT and not discussing the project M.
Anyone familiar with a compact air hose reel system for their vehicle?
I'm aware of the Apex one (https://www.apexdesignsusa.com/products/compact-reel-system-crs) but am curious if there are others out there.
I would rethink eloads. The load rating does not necessarily correlate to increased offroad durabilty especially on a vehicle that light. I would go with c loads and a relatively light weight but durable all terrain (like Yoko G015s). Those early trucks (v6 or 4) are pretty under powered but...
After being sick all week the pup needed to run. Took a quick drive to the woods, practiced some water and brush retrieves, and found some good rocks for the tumbler along with a nice chunk of petrified wood!
I like the upgrades. Particularly the under bed storage and extended cab over. Makes for a lot of room. That said it's not available on shell for no apparent reason. Quality to price seems to be pretty bad too as of late.
DIY is a huge time sink and may not produce the results you want. I'm pretty pro diy but building an entire camper is a ton of work. I don't really see any major advantage given the options that exist right now.
Blended approach might be a custom flatbed with an ovrlnd camper.
This right here. Go look at the fleet of BLM and USFS trucks sometime.....stock height 4wds with maybe a decent all terrain. Then go look at what ranchers and permittees are driving. Again basically stock height 4wd with aftermarket tires and maybe a winch. All these rigs get a ton of miles on...
The Titan XD is a solid option if you want a 2k payload with more comfort. With a 3" lift, 33" snow tires, and my camper I've been getting 14mpg. Not awful for what it is and a lot lower price than other trucks.
Yep. Some aftermarket 17s like Methods fit. However, I'm not opposed to painting or powder coating the OEM steelies either. My factory Pro4x wheels I swapped my 275/70r18 snow tires on to from my previous regular Titan so I need wheels anyways for the non cold seasons.
