    What makes Toyotas so reliable?

Thanks for reminding me- I didn't order heated seats either. And I know that it's not the "best" car- I even ordered it with the manual transmission, knowing that it would make the car slower than if I had ordered it with the PDK (Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe) transmission. Again, all...

Can I get some advice on what to look for? Camper for 2 people and a dog

A 5-1/2 foot long bed would mean that unless you two are really short, you probably can't sleep inside it. In our case, our F150 had the 8 foot bed, so we just wedged a queen sized inflatable bed in between the wheelwells, and put our sleeping bags on that. The dog slept at our feet. Done. As...

    What makes Toyotas so reliable?

Where the heck do those numbers come from? Survey responses from lay people (owners)? Hummer is almost at the top of the list, even higher than Porsche? Hummer hasn't produced a consumer vehicle for 10 years, and they were utter cr@p even when they were new.

    What makes Toyotas so reliable?

What makes Toyotas so reliable? Well, if we're talking about the Tacoma and the Tundra, I'd say it's because they're built in Texas... ;)

4x4 IFS Swap in Heavy truck

Our truck has the TAK-4 front and rear, and it works great. It would be kind of overkill for a medium duty truck with a 26,000 pound GVWR- our truck weighs about 30,000 pounds empty, with a GVWR of 62,200 pounds, and has a payload capacity of 30,000 pounds...

4x4 IFS Swap in Heavy truck

That's not an answer. And I asked Dave, not you. But why, exactly, do you think that? Simpler would be leaving a stock IFS in place. There's no way that I'd hack up our truck to reduce it's capabilities by replacing the stock IFS with a solid axle. It would raise the center of gravity...
