50" LED Windshield mount coming soon from Sierra Expeditions

Basically this is factored into the design. The Mounting Bracket is basically the lock, in order to remove the bar you'd have to remove the brackets; meaning you'd have to unbolt it and need access to the interior. In addition, you can add locking nuts if your still concerned about it.

We currently have a 50" amber bar up there, would like to do some more testing with a white light bar as well. From our initial tests we did not see a need to wrap the center section of the hood...

Thoughts on Quick Fists and Shovel Mounting

I would have no worries about using the QuickFist in that manner. I typically recommend our customers to use a stop if not mounted on the rear of the vehicle, for the event of a front end collision.

Nice USB outlet on sale at Sierra Expeditions

I'm Checking on the iPad question. 2.1A is the total output for the plug not the individual sockets, If you only use one socket the output is 2.1A. According to Blue Sea "the 1016 talks to Apple products and according to their protocol, will limit the output to 1.0A for that socket." I'll...

    Trail lights

It depends on where you are referring to by up top. For the front light hoop I personally prefer the spot/flood combo. Up top, if doing windshield mounts or roof light mounts, you need to keep in mind the issues of hood glare and windscreen glare. Most of the rack lights I recommend are...

    fire extinguisher mount(s) and locations

I was going to say that the what used to be called Nozzle QuickFists (now called Fire Extinguisher) work great. http://www.sierraexpeditions.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=387 We just recently ordered a customer a Drake Mount for his JK to mount to the Roll bars. Nice unit.

    80/100 Series GOBi Rack

We've installed a Gobi's on the 80, and they are nice. Here is one we installed: http://www.overlandtheworld.com/ Honestly, they're a bit close to the door molding on the door with the front mounts where it was close to wearing on the moulding foam. I prefer the feet of the Front Runners...

    Help me decide-- Roof Rack?

I'm going to toss in my 2cents. I dig the Front Runner, the new SlimLine II's are great and a bit cheaper onthe shipping side than the I's. If you plan on adding an Awning, or RTT its simply drilling it, and not worrying because its aluminum. BajaRacks are great as well for their price.
