Switching my life to "not Jeans". Can I get some recomendations for good NON JEANS

While I have tons of 5.11 kit from a previous job, lately I've been wearing the "Fencemenders" from eastern mountain sports. They've been taking on REI with their own creations. They are pretty good. I also got a mailer for 5.11 that they have some new non-tactical looking cargo pants. They...

It does work, but the same issue, you have to be a bit careful of what you put on the outside edge. This is currently my favorite configuration! 4unit with corner to a 2unit where the skottle is. Then I run my 5lb propane to both the skottle and the partner. Plenty of room for prep and serving.

I've done just six with the IGT, corner and short bamboo table. You just have to be a bit careful of the weight placed on the outer edge of the corner. Been trying to figure a way to thread the hooks so I could use a threaded cap to hold the edge in place like the dual link clips do.

    Equipt's Land Cruiser 100 Series

Wrap first, paint later. The wrap will damage the paint finish based on personal experience and other reports I've seen. At a minimum you'll have to fix the clear coat not worth it... I'm thinking a snow camo wrap...

    Two antenna solution?

Sounds like a fine plan. The NMO mount will be some work, but doable and will have a good ground plane. A good 1/4 wave or better 2m will play nicely. Depending on what rig you're running you might also want to just consider swapping bed rail antenna to a base-loaded higher gain antenna which...

I did the same in October. Ordered the hard to find IGT connectors. Each to find in Japan, impossible elsewhere... allows me to connect two IGT inline, or corner connected. Makes the setup far more versatile!

    SOLD!!!Propex HS200 Tent Heater Setup

Propex HS200 Tent Heater Setup Not to hijack the thread, but does running heat in the various tents cause any issues with condensation? I have an Oztent RV that has been noted to have some inside condensation issues if the top vents aren't open. I wouldn't want to open those vents, since heat...

I agree on the weight, especially when you add the grill bridge and the grate. That said, thoug, it still packs smaller with all the pieces than most everything I've seen, so that IMO still sticks with the minimalist theory. For me, in the case of SnowPeak, I think it's more about form and...

UZJ100 built for the long trip south

There is an installation note about interference of the belly pan and the slider. Check their website for the instructions. I don't think you have to weld them. I remember reading something about it when I did my front skid plate with my existing bolted slee sliders. (Of which I installed in...

Portable vs Fixed Roof mount Solar panels

Yes, but about water crossings... you'd have to seal them and then what about drainage? They make proper glands for vehicle/RV roof entry. I rarely make water crossings to the roofline ;)

Portable vs Fixed Roof mount Solar panels

Great idea, at least for me, allows to use the front runner table rails to pack another 200w fixed panel and not get damaged. I currently have a table there, but I could turn this and get a second rail set. I could then pull the fixed panel out and stand it up. I have a portable folding unit...

For those that carry Guns and Overlanding

LoL. Good thread. I wear 5.11 pants for plentiful pockets and the "comfort waist". Really more the latter... don't shoot me for that! I do generally carry a pistol in a locked compartment of my truck when traveling with my family and/or in a group. I have a concealed carry license and spend...
