@Hawkbeard Thanks for the comments on the build thread! Victory is coming along as fast and as much as I can afford her to with all of my distractions. I try to keep the installs and maintenance as detailed as possible so it will help someone else out in the end. I know I have learned so much...
This build is legit........I absolutely love all of the ideas. I'm not bashing anyone here, just saying when I see a $150K price tag on a Defender, this is what I path I believe it should follow!
Great work! Any chance you can post the weather connectors you have the link for them?
The reality is that it is going to to look somewhat like that shape as have to be getting some sort of mileage and acoustic testing out of it and if the shape is much different, no chance they make a 2019 release date.
Looks like by the cut-outs in the front end, its going to share the lower...
Great build! At one point I wanted to upgrade to the LR4 and then realized it would just be another set of challenges to get to where I want to be so I decided to rip my LR3 apart and keep it until after the apocalypse!
That's a good looking piece of kit right there! I have designs in the works similarly to the Mantech overhangs. Will be in aluminum and powder coated!
I like the seatbelt latch.....put in my idea box! lol
@Ray_G The one thing I like about my ARB RTT is the window and door overhangs! I honestly do not know if they are required or not since this is all I am used to. I see many of the hard-shells do not have overhangs for any openings; how do you feel about water intrusion on sideward wind and...
OMG.....my lady told me I should to the map headliner when I took Victory's headliner out! Dang it, you beat me to the punch! I have some waterproof fiber maps I was gonna try and do a few sections on to see if they would work.......
Now I gotta find another option! lol
@Hell Pie I'm not around my parts manual right now but if you find the part for the coil packs on Rock Auto for the LR3, you can click on the section that says "suitable part number" or replacement manufacturer or something to the effect and you can then see what other vehicles the part number...
Finding it was by chance honestly, had I not bumped the vanity mirror door closed at one point, I think I would still be looking for the problem. Like I said, every indication showed no issues in that area for the last few days. I was shooting the wires down the A-pillar with the mirror...
I have both of my A-pillars covers off now in my LR3 after chasing that short problem I've been having. My sunroof drain tubes are easy to access now since half of the interior is out of the vehicle. My headliner is sagging in a few areas so I am wondering if dropping it, doing all new seals...
@Mundo4x4Casa different times and different restrictions! We can't hold the "modern times" overlanders responsible for things they rarely control. I think many of us would love to blaze new trails, however, developed nations are no longer kosher with that and many of the places these gents and...
These FOMOCO (Ford) parts cross to LR part numbers. All of these parts have been in my truck since or about 2012 with no issues. The brake switch is self explanatory!
The relays are used in both areas under the hood and under the glove box in various spots. The small ones differ from 4 and 5...
Well, I thought I've seen it all with the suspension and trans faults from blown tail-light bulbs but this one takes the cake.
Shorted circuit board in the driver's side (LH NAS) vanity mirror is the fault of all of my problems. It will take me a month to get the truck back together...
