    Expo / Daily-driver JK build (Pic-heavy)

My search for an awning lead me to So Cal Teardrops' Scipio (https://www.socalteardrops.com/options.php?cid=8&oid=71) and annex (https://www.socalteardrops.com/options.php?cid=8&oid=109): I had originally planned on adding Rigid SRM2 LED's, two to each side, and using the SwitchPros 8100...

    Expo / Daily-driver JK build (Pic-heavy)

It's been quite awhile since I've updated this thread, so here we go... First, I replaced my TentCot and roof rack with the awesome Ursa Minor Vehicles J30 camper top (http://www.ursaminorvehicles.com): I originally had a Renogy 100w flexible solar panel, but when it was recalled for a...

Looking at a similar awning from So Cal Teardrops. Any update on your build? :lurk:

Alu-Cab Has Landed In The USA!

I would be mounting it to an Ursa Minor Vehicles J30 camper top and have two concerns: 1) would the fiberglass top be strong enough with four mounts and steel backing plates and 2) the overall length, both for aesthetics and because I might have to have the forward latches relocated. Looking...

Alu-Cab Has Landed In The USA!

I would be all over the Shadow Awn (or it would be all over my Jeep, I should say) if there was a shorter version. 2600 is just too long for a JK, IMO, but something 1800 - 2200 would work.

Tippy JK with RTT and rack, need professional advice!

My Jeep is rather, umm, portly? with the Ursa Minor top and other mods and I'm happy with the Old Man Emu heavy-duty set-up. I'd also be comfortable going with AEV.

    Ursa Minor Pop-Top Jeep JK

I preferred to have John and his crew install my extra electrical ports mainly because I'm all thumbs when it comes to such work and wanted the work to be under their warranty. Yes, the power outlets along the header are only accessible from the driver's compartment. I think the paint choice...

    Eezi Awn Bat 270

Do you know if this is a concern if the J30 has steel backing plates at each mounting point (especially if four, rather than two, mounting points are used), or only if it is mounted through the fiberglass alone?

    Ursa Minor Pop-Top Jeep JK

Not off the top of my head. The cool part is that the awning is attached to, rather than a part of, the top, so you can change awnings if a better solution comes along.

    Ursa Minor Pop-Top Jeep JK

In my awning research, I looked at everything from the simple and small Shadyboy to the huge Bundu. I ended up choosing the Scipio, a Hannibal-style awning from So Cal Teardrops (just waiting for it to come in). For me, the smaller (6') awning is a better fit, both aesthetically (the J30 is so...
