no need to change anything as far as oil pan,. the exhaust need a little modification front section, and that's all.

so the project rover is almost ready to start :) i did final glow plug wiring today.
i did have to modify the exhaust system to work around the land rover fame.
the motor mount brockets have to be cut from the rover frame and new one had to be made .
radiator stays the original one ...
u right on that i was working on my rovers motor mounts and i was thinking that how well made that frame is.
hummer h1 has the same type of frame as rover
the motor is in , it actually fits very neat, i cant use the original 6.2 diesel fan clutch, its huge, Mercedes E class cooling fan will take of that job.
i think by the end of the week i will start the rover
those are the items that must me made and changed, the fuel shut off solenoid must me changed if u are using milspec motor, and this small adapter must be made to center torque converter with the crank shaft

yes sir. fuel shut off selenoid , glow plugs , oil pressure switch and glow plug controler had to be changed every other part is the same as...
and do u realize that rover with all the gear in there is 3000 lb heaver than the Benz?
Benz makes one of the best diesel in the world, but lets be honest that motor can hardly move the car its made to work for.
