How many miles is "too many" for an LR3

I've never used the parking brake :) Mine keeps coming up with codes for the cats. I replaced one this summer. Found a place close to me selling them for $300 CDN each (muffler express) but I think it's the ethanol in the winter gas causing me to throw the CEL. It comes and goes throughout the...

How many miles is "too many" for an LR3

I was looking at an LR4 in the fall, dealer offered me $3000 on trade-in. Decided against it. Truck is worth more than that.

LR3 Air to Coil conversion.....one year later.

Good thing I get a year warranty on parts We will swap another one in and the defective one will go back to the dealer. Just a bunch of wasted time for my tech friend when he could be making money on someone else's vehicle.

LR3 Air to Coil conversion.....one year later.

Ha! My P38 was actually a pretty reliable truck. I did both front door lock units, the heater o-rings and a couple of air bags when I bought it and everything else was fine. I added the Carroll Rovers valves and when the compressor started to die, simply unplugged the valve block and pump and...

LR3 Air to Coil conversion.....one year later.

Mine's started dropping in the front again and if it is the front valve block, it will be the third time replacing it in just over a year. It's plastic and nowhere near the quality of the valve block that I had on my P38.

    LR3 / Discovery 3 Coil Conversion +2" Question

Hey Ray, I hadn't seen that comparison write-up before. Good info. I've been fighting a front end drop for almost a year. Swap the problem item, gets better for a bit, then another item acts up. I've replaced Arnott springs more times now than I want to say. They were awesome on the P38, but...

    Range Rover LR322

The wiring on the LR3, LR4 and RRS in a couple of places, primarily around the rear drivers side wheel arch, is exposed to outside elements. When salt and brine (even worse in my opinion), gets into the can-bus harness, it corrodes the wires, they short against each other and the truck is dead...

    Range Rover LR322

I've replaced the rear brake lines on mine as well. I have an ongoing issue with the front end dropping and have swapped a lot of things, it gets better for a bit, then starts dropping again. If I keep,it, I'll likely switch to springs, I just like the adjustable eas for towing so it's a tough...

    Range Rover LR322

One consideration/plus for the L322 is wiring. It doesn't have the same exposed Canbus wires that the LR3, LR4 and RRS have. Being in the NE, you are going to have salt like we have up in Canada. At least once, each of the past two winters, the Christmas tree dash has come up, drop to bumps and...

discovery one dual battery set up.

I used a Surepower 1314 which was in the engine bay. I had the second battery in the rear cargo area where a jump seat would have been. The brackets for the jump seats allowed me to securely hold it. I ran a #8 wire along the floor and pulled a ground from a bolt for the jump seats. I liked it...

    Cold weather Diesel starting.

When I had my 300tdi, and it got very cold, I'd fire the glow plugs, shut it off, fire the glow plugs a second time and never had a problem starting.

Tembo Tusk Scottle Recipes, Tips and Tricks

Actually, as I found out, the Skottle did not ship from the vendor I bought it from, it shipped from Tembo Tusk and actually arrived yesterday. I wish I had known this in advance as there are a couple of accessories (windscreen and cook cover) I would have ordered from Tembo Tusk and had shipped...

    White 2014 4Runner Trail Edition - Sold

Love this truck, about the only thing that would get me out of my LR3. Unfortunately the Canadian dollar exchange and duty just kills any thoughts of buying a vehicle form the US. :(

    Water pump

Actually, I should have said, 300k (kilometres), about 190k miles. I've had it for almost 4 years now. Bought it from my LR tech with 180k kilometres. Control arms, brakes, compressor, wiring along inside floor beside seats, etc was all done by him prior to my purchase. Except for the Can-bus...
