    Food storage during night

If you're sleeping in the back I'd toss your food in the cab. We camp in bear country and have had a few snoop around at night but keeping your food stowed properly seems to move them right along to the next campsite.

WTT Autohome AirTop Medium for Autohome Small RTT

If you decide to sell, I'd make the trip to ABQ to buy it outright if we could strike a deal.

Moab with a two year old?

Fwiw, I worry more about my kids falling off a cliff than wheeling in Moab. I'd say keep her close when you are near exposure, have fun as its a wonderful place to make family memories.

Family of four, wait five. Looking for the (as close to) ideal camping setup.

I am a family man of 5, our kids are 7, 5 and 3. I have had a Sequioa, and now a Land Cruiser, we tent camp, its just fine. Whoever, we are shopping for a popup... and in this case bigger is better, more room, more area to sleep and mama gets a nice warm bed. This makes my job as camp Dad easier...

    Triple Aught Design?

This exactly, while I have had and enjoyed their gear, the strategy to make it unobtainium kills the deal for me. There are plenty of quality manufacturers out there today, I don't have time to play the game of hide and seek for the TAD gear stuff. Also, I have one of their packs the Litespeed...

    Long sleeve summer weight shirts.

The Columbia PFG (Pro Fishing Gear) are amazing, they aren't cheap but they are worth it to me. They have good vents, super light weight material and breath like nothing I've every worn. Perfect for summer shade. I'd look at boating stores and fishing retail outlets to find the nice stuff that...

Is your Land Cruiser your daily driver?

Daily Drove my 40 for 15 years, two years ago I started daily driving my 100. Life is too short for a practical car.

    Swing out fridge carrier

I've run my ARB/Engel in the back of my open top FJ40 for each wheeling season for years and gets battered by wind, rain, dust, snow, and direct sunlight. No problems yet, no cover, though a transit cover would likely help. I'm reworking my tire carrier to mount the fridge on a swing out as...

    Tubby Wonder build

I'd agree if you're gonna wheel it sliders should be next, there's lot of sheet metal between the tires!

My New Overland Vehicle: Just another 100 series LX470 Build

You've got some great choices for the 100 but I think Benc is making the best ones for the $$$. I love the LX the color combo isn't as common as others and I dig it. The wheels look nice, did you want steeliness for the size, material, look? Just wondering as the factory wheels looked great too.

    40 Guy builds a 100 Series

I added a dab of blue Locktite to the A-Pillar bracket for good measure as they have no lock nuts or other means to keeping them in. The snorkel mounts up VERY solidly, I can shake the whole 100 by the snorkel and there is no movement. I also liked that the hose clamp for the snorkel head was...

    40 Guy builds a 100 Series

Goop, insert, set and snug up the nutsert, repeat. I find pop rivets harder to set than these little guys, so just know they easy to work with. Three all set, I just wiped off the excess silicone before mounting up the stainless bolts (also coated with silicone). Here is the finished...

    40 Guy builds a 100 Series

This is the nutsert tool I use if you haven't seen one before, works like popping a rivet would. It has different attachments at the end to attache different size nutserts, you can make a poor mans version with a bolt, nut and and larger nut as a bearing in a pinch too. One thing to remember...

    40 Guy builds a 100 Series

Cleaning up the holes, you can see the burrs left behind and the red paint from the hole saw. After filing and the touch up paint you should be good to go on preventing any rust down the road. I cleaned up every hole, I think you make about 10 all together.

    40 Guy builds a 100 Series

Next up was punching out the other holes. I used a freshly sharped 1/8" drill bit to pilot each hole then I used a step bit and opened each hole to 1/2" to give me wiggle room I wanted to fine tune the fit of the snorkel into its final location. These bits work exceptionally well in sheet metal...

    40 Guy builds a 100 Series

Yup, big hole. I cleaned up all the holes with a file, I used my leaf blower to blow all the metal chips away from the paint and avoid scratching. The hole saw makes a huge mess. Test fit. This is the part where you have a sigh or relief or freak out that the hole is in the wrong spot. I got...

    40 Guy builds a 100 Series

Next up, time to start cutting holes! I taped the template down and checked it's alignment a few times, then held the snorkel up to the fender to make sure everything looked good. I had no reason to think it wouldn't line up, so I marked the holes with a sharpie and center punched the holes so...
