I haven't measured to verify, but I'm assuming the same thing about being able to use an M8 T-slot nut and machine screw. Power source is the existing lighting - my plan is to tap into the exterior lights that are switched (in fact I tracked down the manufacturer of the lights for Turtleback...
yea thats kinda the direction I'm headed. Unfortunately the only shop here in town that does large scale zipper repair (a luggage repair place) seems to have gone under... When the rainy season hits (if it does) I may have to just disassemble the awning and send it somewhere.
They are too low to illuminate the galley (they shine behind the stove and sink when everything is opened up). I'm trying to create some overhead "task lighting" that will be immediately above the work area so that I don' have to rely on a headlamp while cooking (which I always seem to be...
Unfortunately Rhino's position is "its over a year old and out of warranty and not repairable". I guess they just expect me to replace the entire $700 awning because of two bad zippers.
For what its worth, I tried removing the broken "retainer box" but it appears to be fused to the zipper...
Posting here because I have almost zero experience with using aluminum channel for projects, and I'm hoping someone with more experience will know the most efficient way to do this.. On the back of my Turtleback trailer, the aluminum rails that the RTT mounts to end just flush with the...
Has anyone successfully repaired zippers on their Rhino awning and extensions? I have had two sliders come off and two "retainer box" portions break. As a result I can only put two panels up (and only in two spots, luckily together). One thing I've noticed is that, even thought they are...
Yea prior to acquiring my Turtleback trailer, I've just relied on an old Pyromid folding charcoal/wood BBQ (14") but its a bit of a hassle to set up, light, and control temps on. I now have extra space so I'm going to allow myself the luxury of a propane BBQ (which I have NEVER owned in my...
So for those of you with a Max Coupler hitch, I'm just curious what you do to secure your trailer for the day while out exploring. Looking at it, I think the simplest solution is to pull the assembly out of the trailer tongue and put a locking hitch pin there, then take the entire towing rig...
I may end up going that route - a 2" square tube with a 1" hole drilled through it is all I need.... I just don't have a drill press or a 1" bit. And paying someone to drill a piece of stock is likely to cost more than just buying a unit from a manufacturer... <sigh>
I'm already accounting for the height of the Max Coupler hitch - the platform for mounting it needs to be 0" from the bottom of my receiver (if that makes sense).
The problem with those is that the ball is welded on. Can't use a Max Coupler.
I’ve never really cared much about a couple inches difference between my tow vehicle’s hitch and my trailer tongue height but now that I have a Turtleback I’m trying to get it to sit level while hooked up. With my setup that means I need a 0” drop mount for my Max Coupler. I have a 2” drop mount...
Thanks! If I didn’t already have a Cook Partner 2-burner and Griddle I’d seriously consider the jet boil for its compactness. But I’ve got the stove & griddle so now just need a BBQ to live my outdoor culinary fantasies... :)

Love the look of it. Sounds like its on back order until late January...
Its more of a two-burner stove, right? I'm looking for a BBQ...
Those are the rectangular box ones, right? Seems like a really good no-frills option...
Hmm! Hadn't seen that one. Looks well made. How is the performance on propane? I like the versatility of using wood, and even using it as a small campfire ring...
I've used a griddle on coleman stove for years - I'm actually going in the opposite direction from you. :-) My goal is to have...
I'm looking for a propane BBQ to go with my new trailer. Its not a big trailer so I need something compact. Here's my general set of requirements:
Compact size - maybe folding legs?
Propane - ability to run off 5 lb tank w/ adapter hose
Ability to get hot enough for a good char/sear, but...
I've towed a lot of trailers with a lot of different tow vehicles. I'd say that towing a <3,000 lb trailer with a Jeep JKU is totally do-able, but its going to depend on the type of driver you are and how your Jeep is set up. I run 35" tires on 4.88 gears and a manual trans and just started...
Hmmm. Interesting - never seen those before. I used the regular splice that most auto stereo installers use (which I DETEST using) but getting in there with a soldering iron was a no-go. Agree about disconnecting the brake switch (I actually removed the plate its mounted on and disconnected...
Yea, in retrospect I think I could have built a much better harness from scratch myself, but I'd already purchased the MOPAR harness *assuming* that it would be well thought-out (you know what they say about "assume")... LIve & learn. Hopefully someone else will read this some day and follow...
Doh. I'm DEEP into this (parts all over the driveway, trying to get it done for a departure tomorrow) and just realized that this #*$(*&^ Redarc controller requires a separate proprietary harness. It won't accept regular spade terminals. I(#$*#$*& Now I have to have a harness shipped to...
