I have no hard confirmation on this and only going off what another member mentioned a while back. With that said, I think there is a market and regardless with the right mindset, tooling, etc. we can make anything work. As long as I can keep traction control, I could care less about the EAS...
Very solid points on all. As a matter of fact, it is not my daily and I have another vehicle and motorcycle and moped to drive while its down. I actually plan to put it up on jack stands in the carport as high as possible for the week and get it done as I can. I will work daily on it, but not...
Yeah, its ridiculous man. I have five OEM Disco 3 17" wheels coming via UPS from Scotland for $100 US shipping which is a killer deal. I order some control arms from the mainland and pay $125 on shipping, 3 times less weight and size and $25 more in cost...hahaha
I order occasionally from...
Looks awesome. I fly private inner island quite a bit. Used to work at Kona from time to time at Paradise Helicopters but no longer. If you ever need something from Oahu, you know where to find me and I can track it down and help out. We island boys gotta stick together on the shipping wars...
Aloha brother. I'm over on Oahu. I'd love to check out your build next time I'm on the BI. Sounds like a fantastic project and I'm definitely going to be following.
I've always thought about Yota or Dana axles on a stateside project just for ease of access to parts and upgrades.

If I was going BFG AT I would have any option I want. 255 would be the best at a 32" diameter for me. Maybe when I get back to the mainland and don't need a dedicated mud tire, I'll change them out to AT on the 17" set. Then sell the 18" cuz I'll never go back.
BFG AT come in any size we want...
I am looking at BFG MT KM2 265/70R17 E-rated for the trial set up. It's 10.5" wide on a 7" wide wheel so although not 100% ideal for the road, its going to be perfect for the trail. I will gain about 1.75" of sidewall and stay under a 32" diameter tire which is my goal. This opens up many more...
I used LR Merriam for my keys and they were awesome. I do plan to order more small items as fillers and spares. I did that last time and AB packed everything nice and easy. I have many of the small engine compartment stuff on my spares shelf from that order to include some switches, hoses...
So I'm leaving the westside of the island after my early morning flight over to Molokai island and back and I hear this clanking around under my truck; broken swing arm link! It must have happened last week when I was up on trails at the North Shore. Bummer.:oops::oops::oops:
On a...
I'd have to read back a bit but you did a full rebuild right? Smoke on initial start up is very common for assembly oil in the cylinders and blow-by until the rings seat. Same goes for the rest of the engine if you did heads, cams, etc.... with assembly oil. New exhaust is very common to...
Totally agree. All I'm saying is we have upper ball joint binding problems with any further lift on the LR IFS system..........very similar to every other IFS I guess. No doubt that track width changes with suspension travel, I personally do not want anymore width otherwise we have tuck...
I'm planning to get my control arms on order this weekend. I plan to do RRS arms where applicable.
Does anyone know of the best place to order and ship from? I've used AB for my big projects before and they have helped with shipping to Hawaii; I just want to see who has the market for great...
I
Not sure that is actually correct. Without longer lowers the track width is the same. The benefit of the upper control arm is the angle change for the upper ball joint relieving binding, bump steer, and premature wear on the upper ball joints and bushings. The upper joint looses travel when...
Yep, ditch the bling factor for the interior but the LS motor swap is cherry.
Surprises nobody has used a Cummings crate diesel TDV6 swap yet!
Or have they?
