    265/75/16 vs 235/85/16

I like my 265 ATP's. I'm weight conscious as well which is how I ended up with them. Solid tires and I would go 265 over the 235. How about light rims?

    3rd or 4th gen 4Runner non-daily toy

Montero or montero sport. $10k will get you a super clean one and allow plenty of budget for aftermarket, plus gas, plus beer, plus camping gear, plus savings

    Totaled gen 3 montero. :(

Good luck! Let us know what they offer for settlement on the vehicle and what it would cost to buy it back.

    Totaled gen 3 montero. :(

Looking at it more it looks pretty heavily damaged, I would only buy it back for parts. Sucks man.

    Totaled gen 3 montero. :(

Don't let the adjuster just go off NADA. Get receipts and start a list of vehicles in comparable shape and mileage that are being sold. Our minty car was just totaled out and we got 20% more than their initial offer due to this. Buy back will be fairly cheap and could be very worth it depending...

    New Montero Sport

They've had their highest sales in years lately. If they were going to leave I think they already would have.

Good article on adding larger tires

Not worth the risk to man or machine. It takes virtually no extra time to ensure the vehicle is secured properly on stands; the only reason to not use stands is laziness and if you're already doing it yourself just do it right and do it safe.

    New Montero Sport

Doesn't look fragile at all...body on frame with real 4wd system? It has too big of rims but other than that it looks plenty tough and has more ground clearance than a 2nd gen, .1" less than 3rd gen, .2" less then a old Sport and .5" less than the current 4runner. Should be plenty for 4wd...

    New Montero Sport

I bet it does....low gas prices, low competition, and the company is moving towards SUVs/Crossovers and they have a room in their lineup.

    New Montero Sport

Good video on the new Montero Sport. Looks aren't my favorite (the current model looks great IMHO) but for a modern vehicle it's not bad. If Mitsu brings a SUV to the US market (which I think is the way they are headed) I bet this will be it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=938z-KUWbfE

mmmm Miata! If you hang on a couple of years I wouldn't be surprised if Mitsu brings the new Challenger/Montero Sport over.

No More Monteros - What to get next?

I just drove a Mirage for the first time. I don't think it will have any long term issues, the 3cyl is buzzy but the car feels solid and the build quality still seems to be there. It's an inexpensive car....not a cheap one and as simple as it is I can't see you having issues with it for a very...

No More Monteros - What to get next?

99% pavement to me does not equate to body on frame 7 passenger part time 4wd behemoth. Gas isn't going to stay this low forever and even if it does you still save and have a more comfortable ride. Really a nice fwd sedan and then renting a 4wd when needed will be the cheapest option but an awd...
